Deathly Clunk In An R33 :(

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help me out, my friend has an r33 gtr and it has developed this deep clunk that sounds like it's coming from the front left hand side. We had a look under it and the sub frame was about a full turn loose on each of the nuts, but no improvement.

It tends to do it under brakes, cornering and take off, but doesn't do it between gears ?!? If you coast and hit the brakes it clunks, if you take off smoothly or aggressively it stIll doest it ?!?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated as it's doing our heads in

CV joint, wheel bearing. All I can think of at the moment.

I'd be inclined to go with CV too or driveshaft maybe?

yeah sounds like a CV. Think the easiest way to check is to turn full lock and drive slowly or takeoff slowly or something......

check the castor rods, either the bushes are flogged out or the bolt/s loose, but you may aswell retighten all the suspension bolts

Is your car lowered? My car has superlow springs and if I go up a hill and turn at the same time the spring must be

moving and it makes a clunk
