That Doesn't Belong In There... !

So finally the time was here to discover why my 32 GTS4 refused to start. Remembering the plumes of smoke bellowing from the exhaust earlier this year, I figured it would be head gasket related. The top of the block is coming off as we speak however I think it might be more terminal than first thought with the below image found in all of the intake manifold inlets.

Any suggestions?

Me thinks it's time to retire this block and upgrade to a 2.5.

Try just giving it a good clean out, then fit an oil / air separator (commonly referred to as a catch can). That should solve the problem.

if that is in an intake runner, then that oil is probably from the turbo (or valve stem seals) and is possibly somewhat old.

it's probably fouling up your plugs though.

looks familar to me - mine is the same. have not bothered to crack the engine going to drop a RB25 or RB25/30 in mine.

do you have a catch can vented into your intake pipe? if you do its probably sucking oil through the front of the turbo and into the intake manifold
