Sorry to bump an old thread;

What exactly is the difference between a T67 and a TD06SL2-25G using Mitsubishi Nomenclature would they be the same thing? don't think that Greddy/Trust or Mitsubishi ever marketed a TD06SL2-25G though.

I know for what Trent said in the past the housings aren't interchangeable (the mating flange is different on the Core or something like that?), so you couldn't use a 8cm TD06SL2 housing on a T67. But as far as the wheels go they are the same thing, and would flow the same?

Well a 25G wheel is a 25G wheel, there are a few different comp covers avaliable for them, but the only real difference between them ins the size of the inlet snout.

T67 runs the L2 turbine wheel, once again a few different housings around, but no major differences there either.

I've can't recall seeing a TD06SL2-25G. According to that table the TD06SL2 has a smaller compressor wheel than a T67.

TD06SL2 depicts no compressor wheel what so ever, it is the figure after that which tells you what compressor it has. IE 20g or 25g.

From what I know, T67 is simply the marketed name TRUST used to sell the TD06SL2-25G. As stated, on paper they are the same.

As people have said, TD06SL2 refers to the ass end of the turbo and 25g refers to the compressor wheel...

Although, never it labelled as a TD06SL2-25g, only have seen TD06SL2-20g & T67-25g

I haven't read the whole thread so far but I will later .

With Mitsubishi , or MHI if you like , they call basic turbo sizes by turbine families just like Garrett does .

Instead of being GT28/GT30/GT35/GT37/GT40 etc MHIs will be TD04/TD05/TD06/TD07 etc .

From what I read a MHI T67 is a hybrid of a TD06 turbine with one of the compressors normally intended for a TD07 turbine based turbo .

The TD06SL2 turbine is some sort of ground/altered turbine I believe originally made for Trust to get a bit more flow than the TD05H turbine can give . Its basically made to fit in between the largest TD05 and smallest TD06 turbines - Hi Flow turbine for TD05 turbos like the OE Evo 4G63T ones .

They are probably not a bad thing on RB20's but I think something in the TD06 family would be better on an RB25 or larger engine .

Did Sir Stripey Horse even buy a TD06? It's the first Ive heard of it... And were both 1JZ boys.

I think these T67 items are a set result really, quite predictable.. The one making 260rwkw is on 17psi, which is relative IMO.

Decided on the 25G after looking a a heap of different results on 2.5L motors,

the 25G makes full boost a bit later in the rev range, but doest come on as hard and sudden as the T67, seems a bit more progressive.

Idealy I will get both the 25G and the T67 and go back to back to see which one I like more.

As I said earlier though, If I stumble accross the right RX6 I'll nab it instead of the TD06

    • 49719 is the cooler loop. Right at the front, LHS of that diagram. Return line from rack (LP side) goes to cooler loop on RHS front of car, then back under engine and returns to bottom of tank. 49717M is feed from tank to pump. HP line out of pump is thick rubber, followed by the hard line that runs down to crossmember and runs in parallel (but opposite flow direction) to the LP return line. Nothing goes anywhere near the firewall or interior of car. The closest they get to that is the connections on the rack.
    • Thanks, plan is to drain all fluid tomorrow and do smoke test to find out the leak.   Appreciate your help and want to understand how the system work. So cooling is achieved by the long loop not any rad? The diagram seems to suggest it connects to somewhere inside the cabin and I thought that is a cooler inside firewall. If you look at the diagram it seems to show it connects to something inside firewall. I tried chasing it but not easy unless I take loads off   i am confident pump is good as fluid goes in and it gets soft( steering) but as soon as I turn engine off , loads of bubble come to surface and overflow. When engine is on , fluid level is below minimum but when off it shoots off and thinking it is sucking air in. I suspect aluminium pipe may have a crack line or whole   smoke test with no fluid should be a good start and if needed will remove the pump   In addition, the one going under the engine bay is high pressure line and one directly connecting from pump to resorvoir is return/ low pressure?   finally I searched and suggestion is to use dexron 2 but that is discontinued so bought dexron 3 as all research suggest it is compatible and shouldn’t cause any issues/ blow seals. I bought two liter of dexron 3 motul atf
    • Don't worry about. Just don't try to drive hard enough to make boost and you'll be fine.
    • Yes. This has already been said. It is a loop of hardline in front of the radiator. Because.... the pump is on the LHS and the steering rack hydraulic connections are where they always are on a RHD steering rack....on the RHS. The high pressure line goes down under the engine, along the crossmember, like it does on all Skylines. Don't just throw expensive braided hoses/other kits at it. Work out what is wrong and fix that.
    • Still got the afm on the intake, clamps are shut tight, only loose hose is the one that goes from the j pipe towards the IACV, since it's next to impossible to find a factory hose and the barbs are different sizes (I'm still using clamps on this hose to try and help it seal on the iacv side) I've ordered parts to make up the hotside of the intercooler pipes, I'll plumb it in and see what happens in a few days I suppose The turbo's internally gated, can I just unscrew the tension rod to let the gate open?
