certainly did - NEW ones. 4 figure sum for both but yes I can certainly buy them.

need to pin you down at some point to discuss this car of yours and the parts needed for it.

chris, i love you and this thread <3

plenty of stuff available for the car. it just takes time (and lately a lot of money :( ) keep watching. once I get a bit of money ahead I am going to do the interior.

had a bit of spare time today so I started on the Nismo 32 dash (v2)

V1 that I paid money for

the start of V2.

that is a 3mm piece of acrylic cut into the stock hole. keep watching.

quick hit with a dremel to get the basic shape. the hole was marked with the steel overlay that was on the LCD panel I am using. there is a small amount of error there so its not visible in the final version.

now with qbond holding it in place. it doesn't move. I actually broke it in the top corner (speedo side) so there is qbond on that at well.

just add bog. this is actually a finishing bog so its fine and quite easy to sand off.

first sand - this is hit with 400 wet/dry. light is horrible but it doesnt look that bad.

Once this is highfilled , 45 deg chamfer on the gauge holes ( they are stepped at the moment.)and painted black it will look like it belongs there. I called it a day at that point. will do some more on it when I get more time.

nah. all of it is external to the cluster. I am considering mimicing the odo reset button as a mode switch for the navi input. currently its on one of the radio buttons on top of the dash. there is a custom module for that.

hope to have this on a skewer in a few weeks so I can do a few more things to it and get it ready for panel work. lack of a proper shed for the last few months has hindered progress.

still working on it though. nismo 32 cluster is done.

yep it should. will be spending a bit more time in gympie now working on it. july should see more images of it being torn down and packed into boxes again.

harnesses - one sorted. still need to do the engine harness and put it back it std spec.

car is also fully stripped and on skewers - I am giving it a VERY good thinners bath.

ordered a few small parts for it yesterday. mainly inside trim stuff.

door panels (GTR) are approx $450 each. once the small trim stuff arrived I am going to order one panel.

I dunno if you get good prices at your local Nissan but have you tried getting parts from Nissan Japan?

With all the parts your buying you might be able to save a heap over time.

Well done tho.

only things I buy local are glass and BIG panels. the rest is done out of japan. (okinawa actually) . I buy a fair bit off them and get decent prices because of it.

    • I remember the days when E85 was priced in according to the $ per km outcome. Sure E85 was about 35% cheaper, but you also lost about 35% range... now it's fked..
    • They do. The pale yellow translucent ones from Japan were .... I dunno. Useless? Whiteline and SuperPro are probably fairly similar. There's bound to be a range of different hardnesses amongst the dozens of options on the market. The simple fact is that the pineapples don't get up inside the bush at all. They just sort of exist in the space between the washer/bracket and the subframe's bush outer tube, and...exert a bit of force between them? Or something like that. I'm sure that with enough provocation, they will simply allow one to move wrt the other.
    • I'm not sure they came in different hardnesses? Going from memory only - I had set them up in the balanced setup. I also have poly bushes, so I have both poly bushes and pineapples. This is what my memory tells me at least. I'll have to take a look under there to be sure. The tramp was so bad that I managed to eject/kill a diff bushing, so those I know are stock. The tramp is bad enough that you are 200% sure you are doing severe damage to the car. It's not just chirping or vibration, it feels like you're hitting a speed hump/kerb 10 times a second. The issue has persisted between subframes! (I went from Hicas to non hicas subframe and replaced every bush a few years ago now) so I'm entirely lost. Every arm is factory.
    • Can recommend the Frenchys kit, been using it 2 years now with no issue, very happy with it.  Only thing for me was upgrading the thermo fan but I am super fussy on cooling.   Also interested in electric AC, partly for boot mount to have a clean bay and partly would love the idea of cooling off the car before i get in. The battery setup to do that might be tricky / expensive though.  Found this an interesting watch.
    • I put Whiteline pineapples in my old 33, they came in a 6 pack of them, got rid of the axle tramp altogether, cheap, quick and easy install,  they were pretty solid units though...???high durometer???? and NVH was increased a fair bit How hard are the ones you installed?
