Really depends how you drive your car. There nice for peace of mind but probably not a necessity. I find mine is good when I go into a shop to buy something on a hot day cause I can leave the car running off turbo timer to keep it cool haha. But if you have one why not install it? I leave my greedy turbo timer on it's volts display setting so I can monitor that

Depends really. As long as you don't thrash your car, slam on the brakes, pull over and turn your engine off you don't need one. If your car is stock standard you don't really need one.

Remember the purpose of the turbo timer is to allow the turbo to cool down by letting it idle for a bit (circulate oil and water through it) if the car has had a bit of a thrashing.

No car really needs a turbo timer. You can simply drive sensibly for the last few minutes of your drive or simply let the car run for 20 odd seconds when you pull up (don't have it running for like 5 minutes like some wankers do).

It is just the practicallity of having one and the fact (the main reason I like the Greddy one) is that they usually come with a lot of handy features such as voltage display, lap timer, 0-100km/h etc.

If you allready have one and you can install it yourself, you might aswell.

They also have 'auto turbo timer' which ive been meaning to give another go. Basically it reads your revs (which it calculates through voltage im pretty sure) then add's seconds to your turbo timer depending on how you rev your car. Two settings Hi and Lo.

I found it a bit to sensitive with a base setting of 20 seconds but One of these days i think ill set the base time to 0 seconds on the low setting and see if its worth it

hopefully will do next to nothing when driving around slowly, and add a good amount of time when reving it a bit

R32s have turbos with bush bearings, because of that bearing type they're pretty much gorged with oil so much more likely to have your oil choking inside the turbo than say a ball bearing setup (which R33's and beyond got).
