I was under the back of my car last night and noticed that the diff/moustache bar moves up and down on the chassis mounts.

Moves about 20mm is that normal? Car seems really soft and floaty on the road, has mega body roll too.

Can I use bushes from other dattos for the front end/swaybars local parts place doesn't list much for the C210

Dan,

Your front sway bar mount rubbers will be same as R30, Tension bar bushes will depend on diameter, but I think same. Sway bar end/link pin bushes are all same. Pedders have a beaut pin, it has a flat in the centre of it so eack end can be tightened separately and can be bought in varying lengths.

As for your rear end float: No it's not normal and it shouldn't be there. Tighten the nuts or maybe the bushes are stuffed, so they might have to be replaced.

If you cant do any good, PM me and I'll try to organise them in Sydney and post them to you.

Ok, so far I've found.....listed for a c210

Rear swaybar link kit. (is the front link the same?) same P/No. as R30

Tension bar kit. same P/No. as R30

Still need front and rear swaybar D-bushes (can anyone confirm there the same as R30) Front bar 21mm/rear bar 18mm

and what about front/rear control arm bushes?

My bushes are shot too (moustash bar)

Can you let me know where to get em? every time I touch the accelerator it goes Boom, and the same on de-celeration. so bloody annoying when cruising at 100km/h, bom bom bom as im feathering the speed.... arrtghhh

if you are in the business, maybe get some solid ones made from metal? a few race setups use them. would transmit a fair bit of vibration throught the body though.

Babalouie: Thanks man, that's exactly what mine looks like/is doing will pull the bar off tonight and press the bushes out at work tomorrow.

MAG86: I don't know about making steel bushes we have this delrin plastic but that probably wouldn't be much different then the steel ones. Depends how much there going to cost I suppose.

Have your wheat bix before trying to get those studs out the back of your diff. Will defiantly be putting bolts back in on re-assembly. Pulled the sway bar while I was under there, bushes are well and truly shagged.

do your lower control arm inner bushes (front), and ball joints, sway bar link bushes, i did them and the steering is much more soft to turn now. (non power steering) while you're there grease up all the steering links.

Stewart wilkons motorsport for the moustache bar bushes and nolathane for the D bushes .

JFYI Stewart Wilkins gets his bushes from Whiteline Plus, a subsidury now of Nolathane up Sommerset way. (Wyong) He has a front caster bar kit that comes with oversize od crush tube and it's blue and used to come from Noltec before they were gobbled up by Nolathane. aka Redranger.

If your going to do your moustache bar bushes, maybe at same time you might want to think about the rear crossmember bushes, because they now do this bush off the shelf after much pioneering by myself and a couple of others getting them custom made by Noltec when they were at Thornleigh.

Note the date on the picture, but they were made in 2002 at about $460.00 pair.

You will find they eliminate sh!tloads of rear movement.

When your looking at pivot point bushes such as rear trailing arms and inner lower control arms, take a page out of the rally boys book and stick to bonded rubber unless of course you want to be changing them about anually.

When I said Swmotorsport I ment that's where I got them from not who makes them. I got the rear D bushes from a local brakepro under car, he had them in stock :D

Mate, have those cross member bushes come down in price any since then? Bit out of my budget at the moment.

You wouldn't have a pic of them out of the car by any chance?

A mate of mine recommended this as an alternative to changing the subframe mounts. You modify the bell-shaped washer locating the bottom of the subframe bush to squash up the rubber mount to reduce movement.

I figure as long as your bushes aren't totally gone, this should help.
