R34 3rd Gear Issues

Hey guys,

have a 34 GTR - 55,000kms - 2.8L 650hp - nismo triple all the other bits and pieces.

I never have an issue changing up into any gear including third - my problem arrises when i want to go from 5^th to third or 4^th to third and I cant get it into gear…. Whats the issue – Syncro? Im going to drop the fluid and pump some new oil into it and see what happens anyone else had this issue… what oil should i put in???

do u have the standard 6 speed in there dude.

my 3rd gear also crunches (but up and down) + i got crunch in 5th. i spoke to a gear box rebuilder and he said synchros and bearings. + $2500.

i just bought an os giken 1-5 gearset for 4100 with input shaft.

whats the OS Giken gearset like to drive in traffic ect?

im assuming its the standard 6 speed...doesn't sound like straight cuts gears or anything - i myself havent touched the gearbox

i know it has a nismo short shift tho...
