You've pretty much answered your own Q, jnr.

Armed with a multimeter:

IGN will be bat. voltage

SIG will fluctuate according to airflow i.e. RPM

GND will short to the chassis.

should be easy to map the loom with your stock sensor.

Unless I have no idea WTF...

Hope that helps.

Still unsure about this one cos that diagram actully shows an extra "signal ground" does that have to be joined to the Q45 GND, would they be the same. In that diagram the look different ... ????

Ok the RB20 wires are:

Black with silver flashing - Earth

Orange/Blue - Signal Wire

Black/White - 12V Power

Blue/White - ECU Earth

One ground is thru the ECU the other direct to the chassis. At the moment as im using a Series II R33 AFM i only have the ECU earth wire connected, meaning the black with silver flashing wire is NOT connected to anything.

Do you know what the spades on the Q45 equate to?

Sorry: dumb question.. but with is the Q45 AFM ? Are you using this as a substitute for the Z32 AFM ? How much? I can do some rewiring if it comes to Z32 AFM time.. ~$300 for an AFM seems a little rich for a bit of plastic and a heat resistor..

Well if there is only 3 wires on the Q45 AFM then it is like the RB25 Series II AFM which aslo only has 3 wires.

You can be pretty sure (It is on my R32 RB20DET...can check with a multimeter) that the :

- black/white is 12V power,

- the orange/blue is the signal wire,

- blue white ECU earth

...and just leave the black with silver flashing.
