i will start with im shit at spelling and grammer so please forgive me.

well this story begins on a warm ........... no stinkin hot sydney day about 6 months ago now............ shit was it hot.

well i searched the net wile i was in perth looking for a sutable car and at the time there was nothing but utter crap for the amount of money they wanted and i wasnt botherd with barganing them down.

with a trip shortly coming to go see my mum and family in sydney i started to look around over there, choices well F^CK me i had alot lol , i should have gone for a bomb s14, s13,r32 ect but i couldnt get passed the car i now have in my possesion.

now i had a couple of cars lined up to look at , i looked at my ceffy had a couple of others to look at to but the guys pulled out for a view as they woould be busy.

so went a looked at the ceffy went home pondering what to do and decided to wait for these other guys to become free.

after many txts and calls these "other" guys fell of the face of the earth, so i thought stuff it take the ceffy and make something of it.

now the old girl wasnt very clean to start with with its weatherd interior , wet smelling carpet (should have left it at that whene i looked at it) , super dumped stance and dirty as sh!t rims , and the mess in the engine bay, and trust me it was a god damn mess.

after running around from bank to bank getting cash out as over there they let u take out max 1-2k at one hit. so 4 banks latter i had cash in hand lol.

signed a few things , got rego (freakin mission and another long story to this hahahahaha) , full tank of fuel i began the journey home along the m4 i think it is out to st clair where my mother dearest lived, not even 10 mins into the trip i get pulled by the cops, i tell them i only just bought the car and im taking it home to tidy it up, they were fine with that till they seen my licence , well F^CK me did they have a fit, i didnt realy listen till they said go straight home and they didnt wanna see it on the road till it was cleaned up ect. and also added that if the hwy patrol caught up with me there would be nothing they could do ??????? go figure.

so down the m4 i think it is lol flat nack seeing what the big old girl could do i was quite suprised, apart from being bumpy it was damn quick, got it home and had to stop and admire it for a wile , so i took some picks.

th_IMG_0210.jpg

after that i had to buy rear coilovers for it due to the shock and springs in rear being non adjustable.

then the challange came whene i called the transport company for quotes . it had to be minimum 130-120ml of the ground at the lowest point.................. yeah right i said , ve ss commos are only like 110 factory i think and thats of the showroom floor. but alas i could not talk them around.

so i installed rear coilovers at max hight, lifted frounts to max hight, then measured from its loest point being the dump pipe................ 110ml :'( now that sucks assssssss.

so it had to go on a race car transporter $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ not happy jan.

next day i was on a plane back home again to fly to work the next day.

all i could think about was my pig , i wanted to play and drive it soooooo damn bad.

so work came and went and back on a plane to fly home again. yay . the car should be in perth by now and ready to be picked up.

NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTttt

apparently the truck wasnt loaded enuff so didnt get sent for 4 more days......... time to wait some more................ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

so i waited and it got here the day before i was due to fly back to work. yay

got a mate to take me to pick it up and drive it home and follow just incase.

so we got there to pick it up and waited like 30 mins wile the guy walked back and forth and around the yard probally 10 times trying to find my beloved car.

my god ..... the noise......... i couldnt see it but i heard it lol

he washed it, then gave me the keys .

so the dash was on. get home from midland kinda down to port kennedy without getting busted for this jet screaming loud pig. hahahahaha

drove like a dream. apart from temp gauge not working and using a shit load of fuel , mind u i had fun :)

so it got home. yay.

    • Pre-empting heat management  1. The Kraken manifold will be ceramic coated 2. Just purchased some peel and stick heat shielding stuff from car builders, I'll cover some of the firewall behind the dump and a little on the cam cover, this will be done prior to installation as I have ample room to get where I need to now before that realestate has more bits in the way, I'm also planning to modify the OEM heat shield to go back on, but that won't happen until after installation so I know where to hack it up, I'll also cover it with some some peel and stick to neaten it up after the hacking 3. As the dump is stainless with a flex joint coating isn't really a option, and wrapping isn't recommended for a stainless dump, so once it is installed I'll grab some shielding from car builders to cover the dump, as it has some stand off, it "shouldn't" cause any issues and it "should" just keep the radiant heat away from " melty engine bay stuff" Not for heat management, but I've grabbed some more black crinkle coat to paint all the shiny intake pipes, I'll pick the pipe work up prior to installation and use the paint booth and big oven at work to cure them, I'll then wrap them with some bubble wrap so they stay nice during installation

    • YO- have been searching and searching for an a31 chassis plug pinout, or someone who knows which wire is for tach.  ceffy was flooded past dash during a hurricane.  having an electrical gremlin appear. tach is wonky reading consistent with a short, and on occasion the right side of my speedo lighting will flicker just for a second then go back to normal.  if no pinout available does anyone know if the tach harness opens or branches anywhere behind the dash? im suspecting a possible root behind the radio as there are more shorts in that area on the accessory loop.
    • Means something is not set up right, tune/calibration related.
    • Finally replaced the previous temporary mesh indicator surrounds (temporary was the last 10+ years 😂) with a 3D printed GTR style version for the front indicators. I think it looks a lot nicer than the old setup and at least the indicators now point in the correct direction rather than angled off. Needed a little bit of tweaking to deal with the intercooler piping but got there in the end. Old and new photos below.
