hey everyone.. thought maybe someone on here could shed some light on this for me since theres not much info on the net... trying to connect to computer but it keeps saying " no connection to ecu" .. on the website it says win 95 , 98 and 2000.... is this problem because im using windows 7?? thankyou

comm port uses usb cable

u mean it uses usb drivers? if so ok ill try and update.. if not im confused...

getting drivers form the asus website would be better then using microsoft ones hey??

seems i am up to date... wat a pos...

u need the usb driver that came with the microsoft software, windows 7 is a pain in the butt and if you connected the ecu and tried to connect without the correct usb driver than your up shit creek and gonna have a hard time getting it to work, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i had the same issue with the Vi-pec software, i had to use the older usb driver that Vi-pec had.

im not sure with mi-corrects but do they have a serial cable coming out then the microsoft adaptor converts it to usb so that you can connect it to the commport of the laptop???

hmmm thanks for ur help jez... im just gunna give up on this laptop idea and go buy a handcontroller... only wanted to take some fuel out of it so i could let it idle and bleed the coolent system... thankyou anyway mate

and yeah it has a serial cable 9 pin.. then u have to buy the microtech laptop dongle thing then plug it in the a serial port... well thats the way i had it set up

k spewin, you could try calling microtech efi technical support but GOODLUCK with that, thats were microtech get all there good reps for beeing able to help and giving you a straight answer :D
