Alrighty, finally got a picture. pretty straight forward. its just sitting in my boot at the moment. the waste gate wont sit how it is in the picture, i just sat it there so you could see it, it'll most likely be rotated a bit. looks a little scrappy but everthing you see there will be black except for the compressor housing and the tailpipe obviously. any questions just shoot away. oh and the tip of the exhaust should sit snug with the edge of the bumper. cheers

you can get defected in tas??

Yeah it was news to me too... Are cops in Tas really defecting people??? Bugger!

You should gut a gigantic muffler and install the whole lot in it... ha ha ha.

There's room for a short 3" muffler that can go on the back of the turbine.... help keep it a little quieter?

Love it

Justin.

like the idea xrated. Will talk to marty when he gets back monday. Had it dyno'd before it started getting work done. Had 76kW at the wheels and 220nm i think from memories. Got the papers sitting around somewhere. It did however have a stuffed gudgen pin. Luckily i got a new motor going in! When its installed i'll get more photo's for ya and i'll do a write up on it too.

Cheers fulla's.

i was watching some of these setups on youtube last night, they don鈥檛 seam that bed. mind you they were all on V8s.

im now seriously thinking about doing this to my disco with a shitty T04e i got lying around, more for when im towing and response isn鈥檛 an issue.

from factory it had 105kw@4500 and 250nm@3500 so anything extra will be appreciated :)

yeah if you've got what ya need laying around why wouldn't ya. I'll let ya know how it goes any way. Gotta have some power when ya towing ya beast around on a trailer.

Really hanging out to get my car back. You can only have so much fun when ya driving the girlfriends corolla.

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.
    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 馃槩

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
