Helmets...imported Ones

I know it's probably on here somewhere...but I'm lazy.

Will an imported bell/arai or another brand that is sa2005 or sa2010 approved be accepted in cams events and more generally at track days?

Wsid claimed they needed an Australia standard helmet.....is that true?

CAMS says it should be ok, but that is only for events run under CAMS rules. For drag racing its different, need to check with ANDRA.

Not sure about drags, but I imported my BELL and have had no issues with scrutineering.

Just ordered a bell from demon tweeks last night.

they're doing pretty good prices at the moment on the sa2005 helmets as the sa2010 are going to start hitting the shelves in the next few weeks.

also, if you phone them they do better prices than online (just don't stay on the phone too long cause you'll blow up your phone bill).

You wont have any problems with an SA whatever helmet at a Cams event. Good to see the 2010's are out shortly. Just make sure the thing fits properly - that is about the only downside of buying a helmet from overseas.

Very true, number one thing is fit.

Also as a side not, Bell's are quite large on the top and do not have as much clearance as Arai's do - something to consider if head room is at a premium.

consider looking at some of the us sites with the dollar being exceptionally good

only problem is that their bell range is slightly different.....different models and different sizing.

UK bell is what they sell here in revolution racegear etc.
