1) Will a Bosch 040 intank fuel pump flow enough fuel (with 600cc injectors) to run e85 in an R34 GTT that makes would make about 270-280rwkw on 98 fuel?

2) Would you trust this water pump on the above car - http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Skyline-R33-R34-GTR...=item3a5e15906a - or should I get a genuine nissan item. Does the R34 GTT really use exactly the same waterpump that the R33 GTST does? I seem to remember there was one less or one more bolt or something.

3) Do thermostats wear out at all? Should I just replace it while I have the engine out. The engine has done just over 100,000 kms.

Thanks!! :ninja:

1. yes

2. no, std is fine, oem is bulletproof

3. no

Thanks for the answers, much appreciated!

I will get the OEM water pump then. Only trouble it is double the price at about $260!

One more question hopefully someone wouldn't mind anwering.....

I currently have the head off on my RB25DET Neo. Do I really need a new set of head bolts when putting it back together? And if so should i definately replace them with ARP studs and bolts instead (going for about 270-280rwkw). Will using the studs mean I dont need to replace them next time if I need to pull the head off again? And does using studs mean I may have clearance issues if I needed to pull the head off again in the future when the rest of the engine is still in the car?

The engine sits quite close to the firewall, it looks like if you were to pull the head upwards to clear the studs it might hit something making it difficult to get out.

That was kinda more than one question... :P

3. Is yes.

They do wear out. Plain and simple I wont even bother explaining it. One day the thing will stop working, no set time frame.

As stated, $30 bucks just change the damn thing.

nissan service manual doesnt say to change the head bolts after every use. its usually recommended when building a motor but its not essential. i re used the stockers when building my 30det, head hasnt lifted off yet.....

Judging by the completely perished condition of the seal on the thermostat I pulled out of my car at the 100,000km service a few weeks ago - I'd have to completely disagree with that.
