Hey guys, i own a R33 GTST series 2, The last owner of the car said the fuel pump has been upgraded but i didn't find out what brand and if it really is upgraded....

When i turn my ignition to reds, i can hear the fuel pump noticeably for about 10 seconds. Start the car and the pump is still high pitched for about 20 seconds after its started and then it will sound like it slows down.. then if i just lightly touch the throttle, it will go high pitched again for a few seconds, then back to normal.

sort of like a weeeeeeeeeeeeeee (high pitched noise) woooooooooooo (low pitch noise) if that makes sense? :S lol

Is this the standard fuel pump or an aftermarket?

Thanks.

Unfortunately the sound wont tell you if its new or old.

A noisy pump can range from it being worn out to it being a big aftermarket one, you wont know until you pull it out and look.

That means; you need to pull it out and look. Sorry champ!

Because it uses the factory rubber jacket insulator thing (very unlikely to be aftermarket Bosch or Walbro), leads me to believe it's a Nissan pump of sorts, possibly a GTR pump.

well iv been researching it i think it might be a Z32 fuel pump...

looks identical to this one...

Anyone know how much HP these pumps can handle?

Cheers.

I know of several Z32's making 330rwkw+ on standard pumps.
