to be honest, im not sure if they have to be retuned. but i havent heard of anyone with an import car retuning just for the petrol octane levels. but im thinking that its only 2 measly little RON's anyway. but dont listen to me - cos i have NO idea at all....

oh yeah do you have to get the jdm s15 retune if it just landed in aus cause of the octance difference or is 98RON enough?

i don't think so ether.

how do you tune a stock car anyways?

Aus. spec S15's are tuned to run on PULP (RON 95). JDM spec S15's are tuned for RON 100. 3 RON is the difference between PULP and BP Ultimate; it doesn't sound like much, but it is quite a difference.

If you bought a JDM car, it'd be wise to get something like a S-AFC (as it is for most imports) so you can tune the fuel maps for our octane rating.
