Hi guys, I'm new here and new to buying a car in SA.

Am looking to buy a R33 GTS-T. Any recommendations on what I should look out for? is a 1994 model with 160,000km a good buy? Would it be better if I get a RAA mechanic to check the car before I commit to the deal?

Am new to skylines so any help would be greatly appreciated!

First off, get Series 2... 1996+. the series 1 are crap...

Second, do a search you will find heaps of info.....

definately get a mechanic to check the car as 99.999% of skylines are thrashed.

thats a pretty big call to make mate....my series 1 begs to differ to your theory :)

Any recommendations from series 1 owners?

Series ones are getting old these days but i love them (hence why i have one).....if i were you mate i would take it to boost worx or willall racing or southern hitech or graham west workshop or morpowa or fours and more.....well take it to one of those workshops mentioned and get them do check it all out for ya mate....compression and leak down tests are a must AFAIK

Goodluck with how you go in getting your pride and joy mate

Mechanically series 1 and 2 are the same Ive been told many many times, its just externalities like ignitor module, afm, turbo, ecu, cas etc. Heard rumours that the series 2 has a stronger 3rd gear, but Im unaware of any proof.

Your Series 1 looks different to other standard Series 1... others are too round and ugly. Yours look tough.

thanks Vu....must be the dents lol

it all depends on how hard the car has been driven before....

how much are we looking at to get such a check done? Pardon me for the question guys i'm really new to getting a car in australia
