Im abit confused about the soild lifter type mentioning..

P90 are L28et ?

There is a head, or was a head in USA, a P90A which had hydraulic lifters (non adjustable) but they are useless today, because the lifter is no longer available if one fails and they were sealed and unserviceable.

P90 with dished pistons are L28ET, P90 with flat-top pistons are L28E. Not very common here in Aus (but I have 2 of them :P ).

The P90 L28E was matched to the F54 block - which was the 'last hurrah' of the L-series sixes.

I have a F54 Block, but it's only got a N42 on it, Still looking...

I have the F54/P90 combination with flat top pistons, but the motor was imported out of Japan, as it also has the dual stage throttle body on the L28E manifold.

Depending on your application, the F54 block is not necessarily the best block for the job.

eg; the best block to use for the L31 build is the N42 and not the F54 as commonly thought. I have sonic tested 6 plus F54 blocks and if any were to be used in a plus 3.0mm overbore, the cylinder walls would probably have been porous. Hence why I decided to use my block with a max oversize bore of 1.0mm.

Any particular reason you want an F54/P90 combination?

No, I'm just after a P90,

I have 2 x L28 engines, ones a F54, the other N42,

neither have a P90 (both have N42) Heads,

I'm after the P90 to turbo it, I've been told the N47 would not be a good combination on a L28 block, but it works good on my L24.

Have you thought of using one of your N42 heads?

Valves are heaps easier to get out of USA, both standard & oversize.

If your going to have flat top pistons your compression is going to be far to high to turbo, but with dished standard 280zx turbo pistons it would be good, just cant put over a bar of boost into it. If you build this engine right, you wont need anymore that 10psi max.

I'm building an L28ET motor. F54/P90 combination with just under 9:1 compression I'm expecting about 250RWHP, but over 500Nm of torque on under 10psi and with our cars weighing a miserly 1250 odd kg, that is going to be a handful in anybodies language.

Cheers, D
