Hardwire Ipod Charger?

hey guys need a ipod charger in the car but can't stand the look of in-car chargers, just wondering if this idea will work, if i was to get a in-car ipod charger, disassemble the end and hard wire it to the ciggie lighter it should be fine right? anyone else done this allready? cheers

would be quicker to wire a 2nd lighter socket in place and tuck that behind the dash. some hting I do a lot of with portable navs.

this is also nice n neat http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...mp;form=KEYWORD only sits about 3mm out of the socket, plug your usb lead in and your done.

And that one would also be good to hard wire, i needed the jaycar one tho as i needed it to handle 24volts.
