Buying A Stag!

Recommended Posts

Seller states it's an AR-X in the title. I thought the AR-X had flared plastic wheel arches, 18" wheels and higher ride height. That one doesn't.

I see it's listed as an RS-250 Four further down.

I noticed that too.

always has me worried when the seller doesnt know what there selling however in the description of car says its an rs with ar-x interior so maybe just did it to get atention to that detail?

Me too, but the issue is that some car dealers are employed because they're enthusiasts themselves, and others are employed purely on the basis that they're good at selling cars. It's just like any other industry, but it's a shame that in some cases those in the know are not the ones writing/creating the ads with the correct information.

I don't have dual Climate control in mine... Another Stagea abnormality! Who knows... doesn't bother me!

edit- but i do have steering wheel controls for stereo and phone(!)

Same as above with my S2 M35 250RX FOUR, and the built-in bluetooth works well with my Nokia phone. However, some S2's don't have stereo/phone controls on the wheel. It seems you could specify just about anything you wanted when new.

fluffy dice...? :)

How did you get the bluetooth to work? I haven't tried it at all, just figured it wasn't worth the effort, but if it works, might as well hey?

I got the bluetooth handsfree working by trial and error. Once you find the bluetooth menu, one of the options (in Japanese) is to search for BT devices. I enabled discovery on my phone, and it found a BT device named "MY-CAR". You then enter the password "0000" on the phone, and from then on, they'll connect every time you turn the ignition on. There's a MIC up there on the roof, and you can answer calls from the button on the steering wheel. Incoming calls mute the stereo. If you're in Japan, you can activate voice dialing to the "Car Wings" service and possibly other numbers using the "Voice" button on the wheel. Once the Jap to English translation's been done on the S2 screen, all this maybe easier to deal with.

LOL, don't you wish it could translate your conversations to Japanese too? Calls to Japan from a mobile might be expensive, but if it means ordering parts direct from Nissan Japan, it might work out better in the long run.

Wishful thinking...

when we say dual zone we mean there is a seperate temperature for the driver and passenger. your car has that?? if it does, i honestly didnt know it was an option. never seen it on an M35 before. and yes yours is a 'series 1'

cruise is a luxury that is very rare.

Alex, can i come watch??

Turbo guys correct me if i'm mistaken, but generally the Autech models exhausts differ only in the muffler - thats what I've seen on the PM35's.

Orange( or red) under the glove box- thats probably a emergency road flare, the kind that go onto football pitches regularly. Jap car thing. Tell your mate its an ejector seat button if you have sunroofs.... :P

Yes flare is correct!

AFAIK the AXIS model (for series 1) is mechanically identical to all the other VQ25DET equipped models. Any modifications were factory options etc.........
