this is funny shiiit...

im having this massive battle with a seller on ebay..

hes practially saying i cant fit DR2 globes as there is no conversion kit for it... WTF??

he says there is no way to plug the globe into the ballast...LOL

QUOTE

"Like i said, you cant get a D2R conversion kit... the bulbs have no way of plugging into the ballasts, as the D2R is a factory D2R bulb and not designed to plug into a ballast... as the headlight housing provides the circuitry between the HID bulb and the ballast.

Your best bet is to find out what halogen bulb is being used in your headlight - probably H1 - and get a H1 conversion kit."

Lol.... There are D2R kits....

Even with my H1 HID kit, the seller could get me a set of D2R globes for it, but too bad they don't fit anymore.

Anyway, as for the first kit that you showed, they aren't actual Philips kit.... They just supposedly uses Philips globes. Because with Philips kit, you are looking at like $350-400.

Thanks for the taking the effort for taking the pics Charles.

Was hoping for a more even spread of light and a flat sharp cut off. Oh wells

Thanks anyway

Hmmm... You might be able to achieve that with a D2R kit? As the reflectors in your headlights are made for D2R, not H1 (which is mine).

Yeah im not sure, but i would think that the factory xenons would of have a good spread and a sharp cut off?

Then again im not sure will have to take a look at my mates R34 one day as he has the factory ones in place that werent taken out at compliance.

Errrr.... I thought the only difference between H1 and D2R is the mounting bracket.... I think they installed a H1 bracket over the existing D2R bracket during compliance, so if you can take the H1 bracket out, you should have the factory D2R bracket?

And as for cutting holes.... You'd have to do it either way, for H1 or D2R, because the ballast is going to be outside of the headlight, so you will need a hole for the wires to run from ballast (outside) to the globes (inside).
