ok maybe i'm getting old , or maybe a touch bored of drifting so i'm looking to do something more with my ceff than just set it up to slide. This got me thinking , i don't think i've ever seen a cefiro set up for track/grip use ..... has anyone else? , i kinda want to know if it's worth it :whistling: ... and how many of you guys have weighed your ceff? i'm curious how light they can be made too :(

edit: and what are your suggestions for driveline too , should i be looking into a dirty sr? , i'm thinking targa or improved production?

i thought grip was ment to be the 'boring' of the two, but i have seen the pink ADD cefiro doing some tarmac rally and gymkana on tv awhile ago.

edit: the correct term is a truck SR :P

My R34 sedan with the SR20 in it was the best handling car i have driven, way better then my RB25 4 door i have now, and a friend had a Ceffie a few years ago with an SR20 and it also was awesome, better then most S13's.

There is no reason why they would not be good on the track, good chassis, good suspension design and still pretty light weight.

If you plan on doing improved production or Targa type events im pretty sure you need the stock engine, so would need to be RB20, even just speed events and 1/2 dy events like duttons will be fun, and any mods are allowed, just changes the class you go in.

yep , you can change engines in ip but it must be from the same manufacturer and same amount of cylenders , i just read through the cams manual thingy , it seems rb20 would be the way to go for ip :

now i'm going to read targa lol

haha , i got mixed up with targa stuff i was reading at the time , thinking it had to come out in the car (cefiro came out rb20e/de/det and rb25de in s2, for targa you can't put a turbo on it if it didn't have one basically put)

Im in the middle of a Cefiro build. Its a full on track car. I am trying to get it under 2500lbs but this is going to be a little difficult. Going to have to chop out the doors, trunk, trash the glass and build some lexan windows along with some lightweight aftermarket parts. Crossing my fingers!!! I've done a full cage for the drifting series we have here in canada and went with 1.50 0.095 but I am opening up to grip racing as well and need it under 2500lbs to compete in the SCCA.

Its fully built RB26 with the GTSS turbo kit, d-jetro, OS 1-3 gears, GTR subframe, painless race harness (Only using the factory engine harness which is modified) NO other factory wiring at all! Got 33 brembos with full suspension.

Id love to try these out too to help my geo:

I should be around the 400-450WHP so it should be a pretty competitive car once set up. Hopefully running here in the next 2-3 months intime for a quick practice. Going to take this yrs season to race in several series and some hill climb time attack. Try and build a portfolio before next year to try and get a little support for gas and tires, but we will see how she goes and go from there.

here's the car:

in pieces right now. Engine is half built, car is half built. Got everything to get it done, just need to bust ass!

Im in the same boat, have been drifting for years and want to try grip.

Mine is sr with skyline box and just about evrything else. It was my daily and handled awesome through the twisties so im expecting it to be quite a competent grip car.

My last sr ceffy track car which I sold last year was striped bare with sr and full cage and at the local weigh bridge came up as 1120kg with less than 1/4 tank of fuel.
