Hey guys,

I am very much a newb btw.

Ive got a r34 gt sedan with the carbon fibre sticker wearing off on the (wat i think is called) the B Pillars. Photo attached.

Ive bought a carbon fibre sticker wrap off ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CF-R34-Skyline-GTR-...#ht_9392wt_917). Is this going to be the right thing for me to use to fix it up?

I am unsure as to how to go about sticking this on. Do i remove the Pillar to stick it on?, or do i just remove the seals around it and stick in on while it is still attached to the car.

Any advice would be much appreciated for this newbie.

Cheers

Yeah I have di noc at home as well and it can be a bit tricky first time if ur not use to it and as u ate only buying a small amount u really can't afford stuffing it and I am pretty sure there are no nismo pillar garnishes for 4 doors but to answer it initial question yes u do need to remove the pillars to wrap them. I'm not sure if they just pop of like the 2 door ones and if ur in Sydney and u want I can do them for you for 40 which includes di noc and fitting if ur in Melbourne speak to charles86 i think is his nick on sau who is the guy who originally bought this stuff to sau if u need his contact pm me if u plan on doing it yourself and need some pointers don't hesitate to ask

JustJap sell Nismo Carbon pillar garnish's for $260

and if you are in Bris, i can do it for ya!

Its not that hard, simply clean the surface and lay the vinyl straight onto it, you shouldn't end up with any air bubbles as the vinyl has an air release system in the form of a honeycomb of channels on the sticky side of the vinyl.

- Simply lay the vinyl over the top and smooth down with a squeegee or bank card wrapped in a thin towel or cloth (so you dont scratch the vinyl with the plastic)

- Wrap the edges of the vinyl under the B-pillar and smooth down also, and then just trim off the excess behind the pillar piece.

(make sure you cleaned the back of the pillar piece as well as the vinyl will just get dirty and lose its tack if you don't)

Hey just wondering, is there anyone in Adelaide willing to do this(Carbon fibre vinyl) for a 4 door for all the four pillars(Front/Back door each side)? Preferably someone who has done it before, If so how much?

Thanks

First of all, the vinyl you bought, is for a coupe? Since there's only 2 strips?

But it is the right stuff, 3M DI-NOC CA-421. You just need more of it, to wrap all 6 pillars.

As for doing the pillars, they are NOT like the coupe pillars, they do not come off... So you'd have to do it while it's on the car.

I've done a few down in Melbourne. And it might look simple but it time consuming.

Because if you want a clean finish, you'd have to remove the window seals, so you can actually tuck the vinyl behind the pillar, so you won't see ANY edges. That goes for the back pillars too.

Even after doing a few, it still takes me 1.5-2hours to do all 6.

Here's a couple of pics.
