This is called "Doing it wrong".

That's not the impression I got from reading what he wrote, but I wasn't there so I don't know.

It's a perfectly sensible law, it's the people implementing it that are the issue...

When merging onto a highway that is flowing there is ALWAYS gaps, it's just a matter of finding one and fitting in. If someone is not courteous and doens't let you in, you go behind them. This might mean you have to slow down a bit to find the gap, but you should be back at the same speed when you slot into it. It's not rocket science.

I've never had any issues merging into a highway/etc that is flowing. Obviously if it's heavy traffic and the highway is not flowing (usually due to people failing to merge properly when it was) then obviously it is a completely different scenario. Technically, the guys on the highway that you are merging into don't have to let you in at all, but most people will start going 1-for-1 from each lane that is merging.

If you read my replies I explained that most of the time when people in the merge lane have to slow down they end up stopping which is what I meant talking about giving way.

It's funny but I think the statistics would be even greater of people that treat a stop sign or line as a give way.

Anyway, I was just commenting that it would help out a lot on the roads if more people were courteous,

but nope, I'm wrong, totally wrong.

This debate is pointless, it's like arguing with a girlfriend..... they're always "right" :D

i say take them to court hey. waste their time and get a few adjurnments to extend your licence for a while. at the end of it all they say bad luck buddy shouldnt have done the wrong thing then by then u will probs have your points back. lol. NO COMMENTS EITHER MARTIN your just gay. hahahaha.

Hope you don't mind if I pop in on this one...

Looking at the maps posted on the first page... ...there's a solid lane line... ...followed by the normal lane markers... ...and then some shorter "quicker" lane markers as the left lane ends...

In Victoria, these shorter markings a not "give way" markings... ...they are lane "ending"/"starting" markings... ...and follow the same rules as freeway on and off ramps... ...some will even signal a new left lane 300m before a light controlled intercetion... ...only for that lane to then be forced back on the other side of the intercetion... ...really annoying...

When using these lanes the "zipper" rule aplies... ...and if you were indicating along the solid line... ...and matching speed... ...and you hadn't changed lanes ovar the normal lane markers... ...you would be forced over by the time you get to the short markers... ...and the car to your right... ...if behind you or becide you but not ahead of you... ...would have to slow to let you in... ...but many people fail to let you in... ...because of the give way to the right rule... ...which they think means you have to let them go even when the lane you're in is ending...

From the look of the maps... ...and if the cop was as far back as you say he was... ...with the light change... ...I feel you shouldn't have been fined...

well, that settles it then. he just needs to print this off, take it to the local cop shop and they will cancell the fine, and also throw him in a free lap dance, as a way of apologizing for the trouble.

So...I said...to...the guy...cool...story...bro...but the map he...showed us...has give way...markings...so...your argument...is...invalid.

      So, we now have a straight and clean boot lid inbound and the car goes in for paint, again, on Wednesday, and will be ready on Friday, all ready to get cams and stuff on Monday  And by straight and clean.....I mean a brand new OEM one that cost..... $1300....馃槳 Sadly there's no clean undamaged used soft top version available, plenty for the power retractable hard top versions though, which is arse and makes Mark have the sads I could have waited longer, until a NC sort top boot lid eventually turned up, but I'm sick of waiting and said fark it and made it rain cash, meh In other naturally aspirated news, one of the guys at work brought in his old Corola which had a 4AGE in it, really nice clean car with lots of mods, including ITB's, man that things induction noise sounds sick with all of the dorts that makes you smile......maybe the NC needs ITB's, yeah, basically for the noise they make, but they're pretty expensive, but, they sound so damn good I may bring this up when I drop the car up on Monday, and by may, I mean I will馃ぃ馃馃お馃ぃ
