All fuels have a rich max and a lean max figure to which they work best at, generally anything between the two will be OK. Anything above or below will result in potential detonation or poor combustion conditions.

Richer does not mean safer in all respects, it is generally accepted that richer is safer due to regular 98 properties. We are talking about lamens terms now and this should not be acceptable in something we put this level of money and developement into.

Fuel blends have always been seasonable with many companies, yet actual mixture percentages advertised at 15% variance is shocking.

Hope I didnt break your heart mate.

I'm running a RB20 with 22psi and we can not get it to ping with any amount of timing and it's only running E42.5

Good luck trying to get a car to ping on E70 :D

i have it on good authority that caltex plan to roll it out to more servos around the gold coast in the future. Not sure on the exact timeframe though but it is in the works.

I rang up caltex on smith street a few weeks ago to see if they had E85. They said that currently only Worrongory has it. I asked if he knew if any others were getting it but he didn't have a clue.

Went there a week or so ago, pump was out of action and they had no idea when they were getting another shipment.

    • I have a VALCON if anyone wants it, I have no idea why you'd want to have VVT specifically broken out of the ECU as opposed to running it off the FCON/whatever standalone you have.
    • Hi Yes we're a bit optimistic we might get something out of sealing up the two pipes of the external wastegate and reactivating the stock one. I believe the orginal stock wastegate was tack welded shut. It doesn't budge and visually looks closed and sealed. The car has noticeably more lag so it could be at least part of the problem, maybe all. It's definately one of the key changes made since last tune. And it's one that's more difficult to fully understand and measure, not like for instance timing or cylinder compression.  Thanks for that feedback, we'll let you know how this progresses. Fingers crossed.   Regards Rob
