I put C's short shift kit in my GTS-t gearbox a while ago and it made grinding noise... like the gears don't engage properly with it. Not sure what was wrong ended up taking it out and re-selling it to someone else, who seems to be happy with it as I haven't heard any problem from him.

Was wondering if Nismo one will have less problem (?) as it's made by a Nissan tuning house, instead of some 3rd party garage like C's who may have "overlooked" something when designing these short shifter?

Yep thats what i was going to say..pretty much along those lines...People that have used them said they are too short and "some" people have had problems with them and i heard also the C's shifters werent too good for the gearbox since they were so short..not sure if that was 100% true thoe.

Hmmm.. now i'm tempted to find a good Nismo short shifter :P

be prepared to pay the big bucks for the nismo item.

I saw nismo short shifter for JPY 14784 from greenline, excluding shipping,

which works out to be around $185 + shipping.

That'll be less than the $300-400 ppl normally pay for C's shifter.

the nismo one that came with my car seems not as 'smooth' as a regular shifter, but i think it is shorter - albiet feeling only a little bit shorter.....

The c's shortshifter should definitely come in a marked box, kind of purple with the C's logo printed. They ALL come like that in Japan - saw it for myself. Shops were selling off all the C's shifters cheaply (cos they are now disappeared), but too bad there were only Pajero and Celica GT4 ones left....

Mine came from Taka Kaira in C's marked box with instructions in Japenese,....easy to sus it out though. No problems after more than 12 months including 5 or 6 sprint sessions and a couple of dozen drag meets.

theres 2 different types of nismo shifters -

solid shift - 16,000yen rrp - 10% shorter throw

quick shift - 34,000yen rrp - 25% shorter throw
