G'day guys.

Just warning you all about a SAU user who has recently signed up. He user name is UST ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ust-m77496.html ) <-- Profile . A couple of weeks ago i posted up a wanted ad for a Apexi Dejetro and offfered a swap plus cash for of my PowerFC. This user messaged me telling me he's got one from his brothers old car and is keen to swap it. We swaped details and I sent my Power Fc plus $300 his way and sent him a tracking number. He then sent me a false tracking number and told me he had sent it. I sent him numerous messages asking him about the false number and what the go was. I got intouch with Australia Post and paid a $25fee and got them to hold my unit at the Post Office in St Keperra. Two days later i got a called from Australia Post telling me they delivered it by mistake. I have not heard anything from this user since and have not received anything in return.

His details are:

Mitchell Jon of 16 Dash St Keperra, Queensland, 4054.

If anyone in the area could keep an eye out for a R32GTR power fc being sold from that area that would be great. I am currently looking into flying over there and paying him a visit.

Thanks for reading and i hope this stops anyone else getting ripped off by this guy.

Cheers

Id suggest maybe not flying over just yet. If shit goes down no matter how it looks it is going to be on u. How does it sound when the police are questioning and they realize u flew up to Queensland for the sole purpose of confronting someone. Even if he comes at u, u where in the wrong place at the wrong time.

man that sucks, im not too far from there. if you do choose to fly over, more than happy to accompany you.

what a wanker.. dont you hate people like that.. rather than flying over.. could you not call the local cops here and press a theft charge?

anyone know any info on this ?

however its not far from me either.. could always roust up a few to go visit with the sheer intention of returning said hardware. i know a few in the neighbouring burbs.

maybe get someone do a driveby on the low down and see if this skyline is still around at this address?

i live close by mate if u need some company on the visit. have guns too. lol. no seriously if i were u id possibly look into the australia post issue aswell because as far as im aware (could be wrong however) the tracking number is a form of insurance and u should be able to be appropriately reimbursed.

whos to say he even lives there... Dash street is right next to the train station...

That train station has bums hanging out there every day...

He could just watch for the posty to drop by each day and take the package once its delivered...

Its like right opposite the station hey...

Im still really pissed off this happened and its real unforunate that it happened to someone else aswell. I went to Australia Post and collected my whooping $25 back and was told there was nothing they could do about it. The parcel was signed for at the following adress though.

    • Coming home late at night and driving past the police is the only reason i need one haha And yeh, definitley needs a switch to quickly enable it, dont have time to be getting my phone, opening an app, waiting for it to update etc before being able to make the change
    • Because it is financially convenient for them lol. Why wouldn't they want to give you the lowest possible valuation for your car?
    • Yep. @Duncan also shannons they will rip you dry and will be probably limited on how much you can drive. Also keep in mind that you always have to have it garaged with Shannons, with enthusiasts as per their PDS you can have it 2 times per week on the driveway for example.
    • I had a generic 4" Varex rear box on my old V8, worked a treat for sneaking home late at night, it was as quite as stock when closed The car was "fairly" loud when open as it consisted of 1" 7/8 headers to 3" catted Y pipe, to 4" single, it did have a resonator in the mid pipe and only the Varex out the back I also hard wired in a Varex dash mount switch, as the key fob thing is a pain to use when driving I wouldn't recommend giving the beans when it is closed though as it creates a large restriction in the exhaust  It also can in very handy when pulled over for "random" breath tests or just cruising past the constabulary
    • Here is the before and after of the scraping/sanding of the IC pads on the tachometer board for the fix mentioned in this thread. And yes it worked fine after. Just a note if you change any components on the board the tach calibration can be wrong showing the wrong idle etc...only problem is once it is installed back in the cluster you can't get to it to adjust...ouch! My fix was to cut out the calibration pot (the blue one) from the board and run it with two wires to the fuse panel under the dash where I could adjust the idle calibration once everything was installed. And yes I soldered everything up again including the half soldered components either side of the IC in my photos
