Got a r32 gtst that has been in storage for the last 3 years after a minor front end collision (only very front stuff like intercooler, radiator etc damaged).

It still has half a tank of fuel in it but of course this is now 3 years old. What happens to the fuel after this time? What would be the damage in keeping it in their to try and kick the car over?

I've got all the parts on it now I need to get it started (it had most of the engine goodies stolen).

Should I try and kick it over as is or is there stuff I should do/check first after an engine has sat for so long? Do they seize?

Any help much appreciated thanks!

should be fine. just check the oil. probly wouldnt hurt to take the rocker cover off and pour a little bit of oil over the cams.

Before you start the engine, remove the spark plugs, then turn the engine on the starter motor and make sure you get oil pressure. Once you have oil pressure, it is safe to actually start the engine.

The fuel will be fine for running the engine on low load, ie basically idle and low revs.

just started my r33 after 5 years without starting. fuel goes off best bet to drain or change fuel filters a few times. the other big one is oil gets very sludge in engine oil. recommend new oil and filter before starting and definatley crank untill oil pressure present. recomend using a deisel enmgine oil 15w40 as it has a really good deterigent in it to help clean out the engine. drop it a few times after starting to make sure all the crap is out of it.
