no problems, and yeah it was a good weekend.

but what happened to "f**k you're boring Handley, next time I'm brining Pete to drink beer and talk shit all night"

Its great to have nothing to fix on a Skyline all weekend, and well done for good times and taking out the class.

^^ Good work Neil. Is there something that breaks on a GTSt??

How about a report on the Avons (other than their ability to pickup bottle tops), and a bit of in-car?

You need flares

I know, I know. But what can ya do... They only give me so much leave and money each year :(

Here's almost all of my race vids from Sunday,,,bloody youtube wouldn't load run 4. I couldn't be bothered recording any outside of the car. I was quicker in Saturdays practice but I just couldn't replicate it on race day and nor could almost anybody else.

This ones the 1st of the day and after some overnight rain it's just a sighter really.

Big launches were not the order of the day unfortuanely,,, this ones a 5500 grand launch.

This one I thought a very sedate launch would be better and it was until I stood on the load pedal.

This ones the last run of the day and my fastest,,,,2.30 in the arvo and by far the best traction of the day.

Cheers

I am trying to build an rb engine and these are the prices i am used to, can someone please tell me if i am way off track here, but I can find an automotive machine shop that even touches these prices, Of course this is in the states, but the equipment to build 1 engine for the asking prices of lewis engines is about the same, second hand of corse, and i dont want to point them out in particular, just having trouble here? Any help

Are you new to the internet?

It's not polite to go asking questions in peoples build threads. Start a thread if after researching you are still stuck

Rick,,,it's all good mate. But asking me about rebuild pricing scares me. My engine still has all it's Nissan air still inside so I have no idea about recon pricing. My engine has never had it's head or sump off or ever been out of her engine bay and Cheryl is still going strong,,,but now you have cursed me. If my baby blows up at my next race I'm a gonna come lookin for you bitch.

Cheers

Ben,,,chill tiger. If I had the info Rick is after I would be more than happy to pass it on. I'm not all that precious with what I do with my car. That said it's only a matter of time before I will be doing a rebuild and I will document everything.

Hey Neil,

Ya all ready for Tamworth ?

I just have to fit extinguisher and tyres and I'm good to go, trying the 295s for this one :)

Did I get a trophy from Grafton ?

Mick

.

Yea Mick,,,Cheryl is ready,,,started packing all my shit on the weekend.

You better start going quicker tiger,,,I'm almost always only 2 seconds behind you.

Yes I did pick up your trophy,,,thanked everybody for you included all the gents that helped get your poor striken car back to the bottom and also that you had spat the dummy and gone home. FUUkk I'm a funny bastard.

Cheers

Neil.

Funny enough,,, after packing and getting to Tamworth in pissing down rain, snow and freezing cold we were greeted by sunshine on Saturday and more of the same on Sunday. It was still freezing at -2 in the mornings and a top of 12 in the middle of the day. The Patrol is such a great tow car she handled it all without any problems at all. She revelled in the snowy slushy shit without a problem and we had people following us down the hill through it all.

Cheryl did her usual best,,,apart from taking 3 good cranks to get her started. Poor other bastards with flattened batteries everywhere,,,I helped only who I liked. I did loan a fuel pump to a commodore owner so I'm not all bad and the bastard ended up beating me.

The slicks just don't work in such cold conditions but it's the same for everyone I quess. I did 3 runs on the Saturday on the Kuhmo's just for the fun of it,,,drifting is easy,,,I was linking corners almost everywhere including the straight. Might have to look at some drift events next year.

Well done to Paul in his PRB for handing me my arse again. Oh and if you look at natsoft,,,don't beleive it. I have no idea who posts those results but they are wrong. Alan did not beat me.

Cheers

Neil.

    • Howdy friends, So another weird one today, I was looking into replacing some broken clips holding the front grille for the R32 GTR (part number 01553-03831), and noticed the brackets which are supposed to hold the grille in place were also missing 😑. I do recall seeing this issue many years ago, but didn't fix it at the time. A quick look on eBay and I was able to find the genuine brackets, along with all the screws which suited the headlights (part numbers 26042-08U05,26092-08U05). Happy days!....  Once they arrived however there was an extra nut in the packaging which implied that there should also be a bolt or a stud, and sure enough, after a bit of searching I found this thread from 2013, and @Ants clearly shows a stud should be present. Reading around a bit more, it's possible the headlights on my car are the "povo pack" headlights as mentioned by @funkymonkey in this thread way back in 2008. This could explain why the studs are missing on my set of headlights. Looking at the headlight diagram I wasn't able to see a suitable part number for the stud itself. The headlight did indeed have a recess that looked like it would accept a stud, but interestingly no thread or anything obvious how the stud would be affixed to the headlight, I suspect it may have been glued in, press fit, or melted into the plastic at the factory. Another member may be able to clarify if they happen to have a genuine set of N1 headlamps. The only thing we have to work with within the recess is a keyway which likely is there to prevent the stud from rotating within the recess. In any case, back to 3D printing, I put together a model which acts like a pug with a friction fit inside this recess, making use of the keyway so it doesn't rotate while tightening a bolt. Printing in TPU will allow it to slightly swell making a nice snug fit without cracking the part. I've designed the adaptor it to accept an 20 mm M6 bolt (stainless with a cap head in my case), as opposed to the standard M5 stud and I made use of the standard galvanised split washer that came with the genuine brackets from Nissan. Once the bolt and screws were all in place, giving the bracket a gentle shake gave the classic "shaking the car" feeling, very solid, which gives me confidence this is going to be able to hold on much better than the janky solution which seems to have been here for the past decade or so. Overall I'm really pleased with how this turned out and maybe there are more people out there running these headlights without a centre stud at all! • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
