What`s That In My Rear Window

any idea what the black thing is in the middle of the rear window , mine has the outline stain left on mine and this one still has what ever it is still there , cheers

Bentwagon is right..it's like a magnifying glass ,but to widen your view(sort of rear view camera fron the past)seen some in some old taragos...and found it in one mag(sorry for the pic my scanner is desconnected)
