Ummm your dyno graphs are way off.

The first one is Hamish's HKS 2835 on a R33 not a HKS GT-RS on a R34.

The second one is ment to be part of the last one; Hypergear.

yeh... mine is not a GTRS :laugh:

not to mention that you cannot compare hypergear's results with others as he always pushes masses of boost and timing

Not true. I don't tune my own car. Its the same tuner who tuned all of the cars, he's done he's very best to get power for all of yous, I'm no special to any one else. Max power of 17psi vs 24psi agreed, But do have a look in RPM vs power and torque.

We've put in lots of time, money and effort, doing dyno runs and testing on every single combination and possibilities for the best out come. The results are no accidents, if you read through our thread you will notice the amount of developments involved and out comes through time.

There are plenty of results including customer's results done by different tuners are on display. I'm not commenting on other people's work.

Trent tunes my car, you should know him good enough. He's can't add special power to it, plus I thrash it trying to blow up my own turbos and he's fully aware of that.

Also every one's making very similar results based on same boost assume their car's working properly thou. and not all high powered results there are from my own car, few people made more power with with less boost then I did.

i'm not slandering your business, just letting people know that the comparison cannot be made between a gcg highflow @ 16psi and a hypergear one @ 24

many people only look @ peak power figures

i'm not interested in your profits or losses, just that the correct information is available for people to make educated decisions on products they spend thousands of dollars on

That is exactly right. Which in all my readings that Trent's done there are runs on different boost levels, you normally see one on 17psi and another one on 20psi. Plenty of my customers are making very decent power based on mild boost.

I didn't post this up, and 24psi is unexpected. Nothing thing works 100% in a new prototype. This does not affect down low response, torque and power. 320rwkws was consistent, which I must high light we do lot more to OP6 housings then just machining to suit a larger wheel.

There is an other run with in on 18psi with the same high flow in my thread, have a ready under the KAI profile. I'm not going to post it here.

Profit or lose has never been a concern. Just saying we've invested lots of efforts in making this happen. It has been a lengthy and enjoyable process, we are not stopping here either.

what quarter mile times are people getting with a hks gtrs on a 25 ?

I can't think of a more variable output parameter than 400m times from a single input parameter (turbo). ie. That information would be virtually useless and stupidly variable.

I've got an Apexi AX53B70 on my RB25. I don't think there are many/any turbos that are a closer spec to a GTRS than this. GTRS from all reports is slightly more responsive and makes slightly more power (but less peak midrange torque due to smaller housing). I think this kind of turbo with E85 would be the best street turbo available.

Well on my old tune on the Microtech it used to make 260 odd (no nitrous). Given that every one gains around 30rwkw from switching from 98 to E85 it should make close to 300kw.

97 with 230k and std turbo still :)

Doesn't quite work that way.

Why do you think cars make more power on ethanol/race fuels? Higher resistance to knock allowing you to put more timing into the engine and the cooling effect of ethanol.

Have a look at all the cars running E85 on these forums, all of them make more power than what a turbo is simply "rated" at. The rating is just a rough calculation from the airflow the turbo can push out.

Perfect example is Hamish's HKS 2835 (rated at a bit more than the GT-RS) as seen in the first dyno graph posted on the first page, 320rwkw on E85. That punches way above its 400PS rating.

Not sure how much difference he makes doing this, but alot of Hypergear's "test" runs are done with the exhaust dropped, so not a true indicitive reading of how it would perform on a street driven vehicle

    • There aren't boost creep issues, it's not engineered around the restriction of the cats but if you haven't tuned the engine a full decat + exhaust can flow enough air to run off the end of the OEM load scales and you will get a pretty substantial reduction in ignition timing as a result. I recommend using DFCO, avoiding ignition cut limiters, and avoiding popcorn tunes along with running a cat unless you enjoy a perpetually soot-covered and potentially burnt bumper.
    • Small update, it's been slow moving over the Christmas period with money having to go everywhere thats not my car 😅. I got myself a little present to myself from "santa" in the form of some tidy radiator mounts from fitmint automotive to get rid of the stock ones that look like they have been in an accident before and then straightened by a caveman. I know I should've replaced the rubber bush at the same time but I had no idea how bad they were until I was replacing the mounts. Decided to order their dash mat while I was at it as I feel like I am lucky enough to have a pretty decent condition dash and I don't want to risk it being ruined while it's parked in the aussie sun while I'm at work. I have found another electrical fault to add to the evergrowing list to eventually chase down. Every time I replace my taillight globe it blows within a day of use, I'm starting to think my life would be easier if I took a few minutes to learn how to use  a multimeter 😂.   Had some luck with finding a series 2 drivers headlight on marketplace to replace my mismatched series 1 headlight, a subtle difference but it's nice to have a matching set of lights now.   I returned to the air con problem due to being sick of this summer heat, found a good condition condenser to replace my leaking one! I got it in the car and was happy when I got the thumbs up that the system was now holding gas. Sadly the compressor is not kicking in for some reason, we even tried branching the relay in the fuse box. I have tried to do some research on the issue with no clear understanding of what the fix is, so for now it will be placed on the backburner until I can be bothered to look into the wiring to the compressor. The last small mods I have done was cutting the horizontal vents out of the front bar, not really in a functional airflow sense but I just think it looks better as I am not a fan of the series 2 bar. I also switched the shift knob out for a hosoboyo aluminium grex style one, it has a really nice more direct driving feel than the outdated rubbery oem one. Thirdly, I chucked on one of the ebay bonnet strut kits. The fitment is decent and they seem to work fairly well. They have only given out once while the car was parked facing downhill, I think if I was working under the bonnet I would still put the oem hood stay up to be precautionary as to avoid getting a speedy concussion.
    • Got pneumonia, haven’t played with her in a while, but I’m back now. Previous owners cut bonnet pins into the bonnet. My choice try find a replacement or spend $15 get some pins myself to cover up. Now only one small hole to cover. looks shit now, but when the bonnet is red again. Be good 🤞
    • No R32 GTSt had 15" wheels. 205/55-16 was standard GTSt fare. 4.36:1 is standard R32 turbo auto diff. I think the manual was too, not 4.11. 4.11 and 4.08 were R33 namual and auto respectively.
