Hi,

I've had a couple of inspections done on Skylines, and both the reports came back saying that they had the incorrect coolant concentrate. However, otherwise the cooling systems have been tested and the car driven etc. with no other engine problems noted.

Is this necessarily a big deal--i.e. is it common for the coolant to gradually decay over time, or does this mean that the motor has possibly had damage done? I'd ask the inspectors but I can't get in contact with them.

Thanks!

So the testers went to the expense of sending samples to a lab for a full chemical analysis?

Yes, it will tend to go off over time. As long as there is some coolant treatment there, I wouldn't be too concerned. Worst case, change the coolant after you get the car home.
