this week i have been working on getting the brakes fitted up. the fronts were easy as they came in a kit. but the rears are from an r31 skyline and i had to do some work to make them fit, Next week I will be fitting up the brake lines and hand brake cables and hopefully it will be able to stop when i roll it down my drive way :D I will be rebuilding the rear brakes before the car goes on the road. ;)

verrry nice matey, can't believe i missed this thread. I am a 240 fan from way back, love them. loving the build so far, i actualy kinda like the idea of a 20 in it, they are strong, little older sound great and will be pretty reasonable in such a featherweight of a car too. color looks good, flares and wheels set it off. wilwoods behind the wheels make me warm and fuzzy

great build, cant wait to see some more updates =)

I thought i would dedicate this weekend to my 240 so i managed to get a fair bit done. I finaly got the engine in so it is now very close But first i have a major hurdle in the wireing of the rb, This has been my bigest fear of the whole build so i will be asking a few questions if i get stuck.

Any way here are some pics

I had rely hoped that it would have sit lower with the engine in, I hope the king spring lows will settle down a bit after a while

Looking good, haven't been around for a while so it's good to see some progress.

Looks like you'll have plently of room in the engine bay for everything else, especially seeing as the intercooler isx already in. Good stuff!

Is the motor sitting back further then the standard motor did? And is it heavier or lighter? I'm not too familar with these things.

Ok the car has been on the road for 6 months now and I must say, it is a barrel of laughs to drive. To much throttle can have you facing the wrong way rather fast.

One problem I have is that when its cold it is rather sluggish and surge's quite a bit

Once it has warmed up it is runs faultlessly and goes like a rocket.

Can some one point me in the right direction as what to try first. I really don't want to have to chases tail on this one if I don't have to.

I will be taking it for a run at collingrive hill climbs this weekend so I can see how it really performs. It should be a good day.

my 32 does this, its because i turned up the fuel pressure and haven't had a cold start tune done to correct the extra fuel in the "cold" map, sounds like it needs a tune

    • I much prefer that to an actual oil pressure issue, never would of thought it would of been a volt drop issue but SAU brains win again. Guess ill be turning down the oil pressure limit for the track and hunting some grounds. Ill hopefully update this thread with some high oil pressure and solid ecu voltage logs.
    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
