TIME: 12.00pm for a 12.30pm leave

MEET: Lake Monger reserve Car Park off Powis Street - Dogs must be on a leash at this venue.

This cruise involves bringing mans best friend out for an afternoon of fun. I dont care what car you bring, this is about the dogs. We will be stopping at a park and dog beach.

This is an afternoon cruise, Grab lunch before leaving or on your way to the meet point, there are no planned lunch breaks during the cruise.

You will need.... Dog, collar and lead, bowl and some water for the dog, maybe some treats if you want to spoil him/her. Towels, for dog and for the car seat, car seat cover if you require one, maybe a ball or toy.

Water/drinks and munchies for yourself.

bathers/towel/change of clothes, etc if you want to swim with your doggy.

DOGGY CONTESTS At the park, we will run a few competitions, such as, best educated dog, Best Agility dog, cutest dog, best dog trick etc. I will supply some prizes, nothing fancy though, this is just for fun and Im not rich. lol

Dogs must be under effective control by their owner when in public places.

Your dog is not considered under control if they:

chase or disturb wildlife, other dogs or people

act in a threatening or aggressive manner

attack or injure another animal or person

is a considerable distance from their owner(s) preventing response to verbal commands

Please remember your dogs mess is your responsibility.

Dont have a dog but still want to come and socialise, then by all means do come. You can help judge our doggy contests if you dont have a dog of your own on the day. The beach we will be going to is also a nice one and you are welcome to hit the waves if you wish to.

This cruise is organised by West Coast Cruisers. All road rules are to be obeyed.

Hi Marianne,

We have a shih-tzu/maltese dog that we would have love to bring along if the date didn't coincide with 350Z/V35 cruise on that same day.

If there's any one in the future, please let it known and we will definitely try to come.

(By the way, you live in Kenwick WA? I work at Kenwick area too, and might have seen you car before.)

no worries, Im sure we will do something like this again. Gotta spoil mans best friend right?

I guess its possible you might have seen my car its a silver R32 4 door, Looks stock, limo tint with gunmetal standard rims, nothing special really. Has a big pink west coast cruisers sticker on the back window so that makes it a little more recognisable.

My Hubby has just started using it as his daily so it will be on the streets a bit more now.

For anyone else who is coming we will see you & your best buds (dogs that is) on Sunday.

Hi Marianne. How did the WCC doggy day cruise go?

Yeah, it could be your car that I see sometimes around Kenwick area but didn't actually see the WCC sticker though. I am friends with a few WCC people (Rhys, Lachlan & Jess).

Anyhow, please post up if another doggy day cruise happen and we will try our best to come. :)

Sorry for the late reply, dont get on here all that often. The doggy day cruise went well. There was only a small turn out which I had a feeling it would be. so we decided to skip the cruise and go straight up the coast to the beach. The drive was still nice doing the coastal run.

The dogs all had a great time at the beach, funnily enough none of them were fussed on the water but just loved playing on the beach and seeing/meeting some other dogs that were there.

My 16month old son LOVED the beach, it was his first time at a beach, he is a real water baby, he just wanted to run off right into the deep if I had allowed it, I ended up having to use the lead rope to tie around his weist so he couldnt run off or go too deep and get carried away. The biggest sandpit he has ever seen was also a delight. I think it is possible he had more fun than the dogs did.

The prizes I brought ended up being enough for each dog to take one as a treat, so all in all the dogs got very spoilt.

Will try to run another one before summer is over, so keep an eye on here or WCC. :)
