it sucks really.. u used to be able to get $3k turbos thru and pay now duty.. now with this terrorism shit, and also increased focus on checking everything that goes thru an airport, now w'ere all paying

also i think a few local companies may have had a few words to customs themselves.

mj: exactly... even if you have to pay 10% - 20% duty its still cheaper than anything locally.

who is installing your gear? do you know yet? i am still tossing up between gavin when i get my belt and water pump changed or myself (i am pretty sure after reading some instructions on here i can do it myself).. if jimx can do it, i can do it

Customs is getting onto everyone bringing in car parts now. The local business' are getting the shits. I remember about 12 months ago a new safcII was $700 and a avcr was about $950 to buy from a local performance shop, everyone imports them for a much cheaper price though

I use apc for the dyno.

Is it say its a part for $1000, if u get stung, is it 15% of that then. So it would be $1150 + another 10% ?

erin: ye, know the feeling jumping between the old skyline (r31) and the new skyline, its such a big difference..

$633 still isn't too bad for an AVC-R.. people used to pay $900 and some still do
