Probe into 'drug-fueled sex cruises'

CYPRUS police said today they were investigating claims that British and Scandinavian tourists are involved in organised sex romps in the Mediterranean during night cruises off the coast of Ayia Napa.

According to independent TV channel Mega, tourists aged between 18 and 30 are involved in sex and drug orgies during short cruises off the popular southern clubbing resort.

The station also accused the party goers of taking ecstasy pills and partaking in "debauched acts".

Cruise organisers arrange the boat parties inside international waters to escape the long arm of Cypriot law, Mega reported.

The TV station screened censored pictures of naked revellers, as couples engaged in what appeared to be oral sex acts, egged on by large crowds
