Ok .. Amandas a dead set champ ... gav on the other hand gets me puzzled most of the time.

I'm having issues with real names atm, im like 'i was spekaing to greg' .. and then she puleld up your profile .. im like his plate is hex something or other..

and shes like .. Oh Chris?

and im like wtF? .. yeah thats him ..

and shes like, yeah i remember most cars by their plates .. (ironic how she remembed my car as 'the hail damaged r32' lol :D :D)

And i was asking her about cross drilled breaks .. and shes like nah you dont need them unless your going to be drifting and racing alot, and im like .. nah i've kinda retired.. my gearbox is screwed from all that :(

Just wondering is i should for out the 500 - 600 for slotted rotors .. or just keep my same ones ..

She told me, $165 including machining and labour and bendix pads..

dont know how true to his word he is though? .. cuz im still kind of up in the air about it, as he told me he checked my tyre pressure, and 2 days later i had to pump it up due to them being flat. :S :S

So i don't know what to think just at the moment, ill give him the benifit of the doubt and assume my tyre was flat from my weekend of madness..

Hmm..

Edit: Im not bagin Gav or anything.. im just making a statement, due to my prevous experiences with workshops ..you wouldnt blame me for being paranoid and suspicious

alright .. ill just check that transaction for you ..

as for piping, i know a member of these forums got some mild steel? piping done for $450

im hoping to possibly do a group buy on piping .. where ill have a word to some workshops and see if they can do X amount of cars for a cheaper price..

Wade - that should be fine by me, i will get my cooler about 2 weeks before you .. but im happy to wait ...

will you be supplying 2 cars? or just the one?

I noticed another member was interested in getting some piping done, so i'll have a word to him too .. and if he will be in that'll make 4 cars.

I will ring around a few work shops on the goldcoast and get prices soon .. i dont know of any workshops in brisbane .. so uhmm yeah :S ... apparently the cheapest workshop on the goldcoast is Ashmore exhaust .. doing it at $450 including pipes, bends.. pretty much all the shit. a member of the forum got his work done there, and he ahs invited me to check out the piping as he lives close by, and i may take up the oppotunity and hopefully get some photos.

However having said that .. i did speak to a 'friend' that said they were shit bla bla bla .. however i think he might be just jumping on the band wagon .. im unsure.

I will like to grab the lads that would be interested in this group purchase and discuss what kind of pipes and that so i have some amunition to speak to a few workshops about.

Nexus - how will i know when they need replacing? ..

    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
    • My Fuga Hybrid is JDM, 2014 model but very similar to the V37 from the looks of things..same platform just physically larger and very comfortab;e
    • Was that Australia Delivered Duncan? Does it have siren etc?   I used to have remote start on an old 32 two decades ago, it was a cool feature. I used to wake up early in winter for work. Start it and by the time i was out the door a few minutes later the engine was warmed up and the heaters had the car toasty. It was great.    I don’t mine the ambience lighting.  I drive a western star and it has footwell lights and ambient lighting and it’s great! From the pics of seen of them installed in a skyline I think it’s a nice touch
    • re the security system, my Fuga/Q70 has the factory option where the puddle lights in the mirrors turn on when the prox key is detected, it was clearly dealer fitted and has a switch in the lower dash to disable it....it didn't have remote start but TBH I don't really miss that, I had it in the Stagea originally but never used it....we don't often have to warm the car up in the snow before we get in for Australia. And the Fuga also has the illuminated footwells, sounds like a useless feature but I actually quite like the indirect light within the car, it was a nice addition
