A former Orange County sheriff's deputy is expected to plead guilty to charges stemming from illegal importation of 12 Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, including the one driven by Paul Walker in "The Fast and the Furious."

So, a former cop has been busted importing GT-Rs into the US including the one used in The Fast and the Furious :ermm:. Just goes to show how tough the US is on the importation of cars so stop complaining about DOTARS/RAWS, at least we can get some very desirable cars into the country.

except for the fact that most of them (including brian's in F&F) are actually Kaizo Unibody cars, not genuine GT-Rs. So whether it's genuine or not, they will still get busted (other than the 10 or so genuine imports from back in 99)

doesn't really say why it was illegal, so you can't really say that we should stop whinging about RAWS, etc. he may have simply dodged a heap of paperwork on them, and therefore it is illegal importation.
