Boot Release Problem, - Cable Tightened But Still Nothing?

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem before.

My boot isn't releasing when i pull the driver side lever. It does open however, with the key.

I've tightened the rear slider thing, according to the workshop manual but still nothing.

I'm pretty sure the mechanism moves, as I put a screw driver there on balance, and pulled the lever, it fell over. So the mechanism is still moving.

Any other ideas?

meant to be a switch on the mechanism for "valet" mode so can only be opened with the key. not sure what model cars have this though

R32 and R33 have a valet mode that only lets you open the boot with the key. There is a lever on the side of the catch - try flincking it to the other location.

this has happened with my R34 too, had no idea what was wrong with it, but called up a mechanic and he said the cables were munted and it would cost hundreds to fix as i'd have to pull out half the interior ....

if theres a quicker way to fix this please let me know
