84? dunno just going by what the tester said, maybe i misunderstood. but he told me not to waster my money reckons it wont pass with the silincer anyways so go get a stock or give him $400 for tripple muffler setup????!!!!

did you wanna lend/sell the stock exaust alex?

Don't bother trying to pass with a modified exhaust, I thought mine was quiet...turned out to be 98db. The standard one is about 88db @ 5000rpm or something...the limit and the RPM it is tested at is nothing short of ridiculous. And the GTR as far as I know, breaks the limit in standard form. Chuck a stock one on just for the test if you want to risk it again, or get some ridiculous three muffler system for a permanent solution.

Just another example of our police force equipping servicemen with hearing abilities that would put Superman to shame. And YOU have to pay for the test

and no repercussions when they're actually wrong,

would you prefer a noise test on the spot? What if you fail then? Then there is no reason not to issue you a fine or say the car is undriveable from that moment.

At least with the current system, you can change it back to standard and then go to to noise test

Sure you get done for a $xx test fee but I believe its better than any possible on-the-spot fine if they do testing when they pull you over.

(this all based on cop issuing noise epa notice)

std r32 gtst exhaust is 89db so anything modified will be over the limit. Majority of skyline drivers would be over the limit unless they spent money on a custom silent exhaust.

yup, i dont really mind a fine on the spot, but then again, for an accurate noise test, there are a lot of requirements that have to be met... so. any reading that's taken by the side of the road, where there are trees and shit, can be disputed, no?
