GO to Drag Combat...RACE at Drag Combat

Recommended Posts

OK! All SAU members: This is an event tailor made for Jap Imports from stock right through to over-the-top mods. Last year was a blast!!! mick51 got 16 yes 16 runs in....makes the average t & t look sick. They need our support to make this a success and therefor an annual event so if we want recognition and acceptance of our cars we need this kind of publicity + You will be on TV, Fox Sport will be there and will broadcat the event on 8 occasions through the year.

So all you guys who intend to do drag when you've done this or done that to your car tuck you'r balls in and put in an entry, or at least come and support us guys who are entering.

My car is in,with mick51 driving again but is a bit touch and go as to whether I can get it ready in time.(balancing on one leg)

Perhaps we can co-ordinate with strutto to get a mass SAU arrival, though competiters need to get there earlier.

Look forward to seeing you all there

Dragging is great fun, and very little chance of killing your car for those that haven't done it... so don't be scared - get out there!!

No money, no drag, no helmet, no fun  so unfortunately I can't make it onto the track in my goal of getting a blistering 13.7s 1/4 mile :), but I was planning on coming down to spectate with everybody.

Exactly Jay... Take it to the track... Mods don't mean shit unless you've got the timeslip to prove it...

Are entries still open? Price?

What sort of racing is it? Heads up? Bracket?

Are you sure we won't be laughed out the gates if we run 14's all day?

I'm defineatly gunna be there as a spec... you might have to twist my rubber arm to get me to race though...

Unfortunately it's quite exxy....$80 but that gets another person in for free so work it out......2 people spectating= $60 1 driver+1 crew=$80... your getting a days racing....as much chance as anyone else to win money....and your car on TV ....all for $20.

We would be Bracket racing ...pick your et and stick to it 2 classes ET1 0 to 11.99 and ET2 12 to 14.99. mick ran mid 14's + acouple of 15's last year we are hoping to be into high 12's this year.

Old turbo is just about off, HKS 2540 ready to go on........ITHINK we're going to make it....as of today I start partial weight bearing on my poor little foot. Should make things a little easier!!

I hate you all , I so wish I was there

There will be drags up here in Tvl , but you know it's not the same . All those that have not been to one , you must go it is a time to go see sick cars and what they can do , not just ones sitting in a show room looking good , that is cool too though

I had entered, paid my fee & was ready to go, but alas, blew a turbo going home on Friday arvo (ironically after picking it up with the Motec installed)....

Oh well, there's always Jambo & next year....

Have a good day all

    • Both windows operate normally while the engine is running but start to sag as soon as I switch off.  Does anyone know of reasonably priced replacements or other brands that will fit?
    • Actually PowerFC is probably the easiest to get basic data from, it comes with a hand controller and display so you don't need to remember to pack a laptop every time you drive. It also has a PC based viewing/logging option if required. Nissan used consult on these because back in the mid 80s, ODB was just a glint in a standard's body's eyes.  They switched to OBD shape around 2000 (my 2001 Cima had OBD shaped but not OBD compliant port) With the standard ECU there is a cable and software available to give basic data too, I think it is called Nissan Data Scan or s
    • Given by the sheer number of questions about offset, absolutely not. If you had the information formatted this way: Space from R34 GTT hub to outer arch = 100mm Space from R34 GTT inner hub to nearest suspension arm = 90mm. (making this up) Buying a wheel that was advertised as Enkei RPZ5 Diameter 18in Width 9 Distance to arch = 84mm Distance to suspension arm = 76mm 100% of people would know instantly if it fits. They would absolutely also know instantly how close it fits too, and no questions would need to be asked. You would know you would have 16mm from the guard and 14mm from the suspension arm.
    • Ah ok, for example for the apexi ecu I heard that it's pretty limited with the information it can give you. Also not sure why Nissan used the consult port over the obd2, what the idea there was.
    • Diagnosing with and without is mostly the same. You need to know, as Duncan asked, and what conditions. Car hot, cold, idling, driving, if while driving what rpms, is when you're varying, or is it when held constant.   From there it's understanding what can be causing it. Starting with pretending all of the sensors are correct. Which means if it's going rich, why would it be thinking more air is going in than it is, and under what conditions. So things like if only when under boost, it could be be a loose intake piping joint. It's just understanding the system, and understanding when/how the problem occurs, and then if it's only occuring in specific scenarios, what can be causing it.   ECU specifically, if it's aftermarket, it'll have software you can use, for the Skylines on factory ECU, there is Nissan Consult you can use. Most ECUs have a way to get data from them.
