Lol, not much of a race the person doing mine takes off on holidays tomorrow hahaha

Mines got 2 mufflers aswel, other is in the box.

Still, I got the motor in the car so that has to be a headstart haha

is it actually possible for a 4" straight through muffler to really do any muffling at all? Even if the oval was 1 meter wide on its own it would still do bugger all surely?

People with more knowledge than I have in this area have sorted it out for me so it's quiet and flows like a drainpipe

I don't mind a bit of noise, just want all the flow possible. Time will tell

Having the motor on the stand is a minor detail :whistling:

Lol!

"it never ends"

Btw you know my carbon Kevlar seat, do you want it? I want a different one and want to sell this before buying another so I'm not stuck with two. You know what it's like at mine with parts and space

Not true at all, at top end when you are making that kind of power a whole lot of exhaust is bypassing the exhaust via the wastegate...

3" on 26 with T04z regularly make between 430-470rwkw

Depends if you are external or internal – either way, bigger does no harm at all.

Garrett engineers on their website clearly state that the less restriction after the turbo the better. Sure this needs to be weighed up with physical limitations and noise levels etc. But a greater flowing exhaust can only improve response and top end power. Obviously, whether its even noticeable depends on your power levels but at 400rwkw I think it would be very noticeable.

Just because some cars manage to get 400rwkw through a 3" exhaust doesnt mean they couldnt be a heap better with a larger exhaust.

Min 3.5" IMO

Couldn’t agree more.

I’ve seen cars make 350rwkw with a 3” as well. Swap it over to a 3.5” and boom, another 15-20rwkw and better midrange. Some are users here (some have also posted, which is good)

Just because it makes the power, you can get a 3” to 400rwkw no problems, doesn’t mean that putting something bigger will not provide benefit.

Well with 2x 3.5” straight through mufflers (they are massive), I’m around what, 90dB, so it must be possible :whistling:

Mufflers weren’t cheap, but they certainly have some effect.

would there be any power gains for a 170rwkw by changing from 3" to 3.5" cat back but keep the 3" dump/front/cat?

no mufflers btw

Not really no, 3” with little bends and straight through mufflers is plenty for up to 250-300rwkw.

All you get is noise @ that level.

    • I like the idea of tagging the model, and if GTS-t/GTt or GTR, and then a what, so wiring, engine, suspension.   That way you end up with a matrix, all content R33 GTST, or you can find all content that is wiring related for example.
    • You could probably just go with the genuine Nissan pads, they are not really the expensive, I can't say how they compare to your 350GT pads but at least they will give decent performance. Shims are probably the reason for the squeal.  When I bought my Q50 which runs the same Akebono brakes, the previous owner had some weird pads fitted and it squealed and dusted like crazy, I bought genuine pads and when I put them in, I found all the shims missing.  With the factory pads, the dusting is much better, performance is fine, but it still squeals when cold.  A bit of grease on the back of the pads and mounting points gets rid of it, but it comes back after a while.  I have bought a genuine shim kit that I need to install when I get around to it, hopefully that will fix the squeal.
    • Highlight that row, and a bit of trial and error. Try reducing it by 25% and see if it starts, if not, go the other way. On the newer Kebabtechs that table is in VE which makes it so much easier to calibrate.
    • That's the one I have in my R32. There isn't a bigger battery that will fit an R32.
    • Not sure what you mean haha. That one doesn't fit mine but when I get sick of my one I'll get a standard one. I just gotta find a way to make it fit cause some shit is in the way.
