I'm getting a genuine US made hi flow and paying the extra $100 for it ober the universal (total cost $450 fitted)

I find things like this quite amusing :)

We all seem to think that things manufactured overseas has to be better than locally produced products, and for many things, that's absolutely true. But for things like cat convertors, which are made by machine and no hand welding, they're just fine.

Think about this. Over in America, there are people bragging about their "Australian-made, Laser-Cut Redback Catalytic Convertor"...

Magnaflow are US-made

Catco are US-made

Davico are US-made

Eastern are US-made

Walker are US-made

Arvin are US-made

Redback are Aussie-made

So as you can see, pretty much all the cat convertors sold here are US-made anyway...

Guys, just reading your thred,I fit exhaust for a living and if you knock the guts out of a cat it is the best way of making your car sound like a shitty 253 kingswood. Although they flow well the gutted chamber becomes a resinating peace of crap.Just fork out and buy the cat should cost no more than $300 fitted. If in dought about power loss do a back to back dyno on straight pipe v's high flow cat you will be surprised!

Tried to get my new exhaust fitted today, its a Veilside 3.5" system with no cat, just the front pipes, two small resonaters then muffler, but the exhaust shop wouldnt go for it, doh!

Theyre reasoning was it would belch flames out the back (they wernt concerned about epa) but they wouldnt listen to me when I said it already belches flames out the back

LOL flames are sick

personaly i would buy a 3'' System and fit it myself. a 3'' pipe is a 3" pipe it doesnt matter what brand it is, just get good aluminum and somthing that looks good in the way of welds and bends, you'd pay harf as much and get good satisfaction.

my 2 cents :(
