Hey all, not sure if this is the right section but anyway.

I need a replacement s/h RB26 block + girdle as the RB26 i picked up has a damaged block from when it was in an accident.

So i would like to know the fair $$ value for one.

I have seen some rediculous prices for RB26 parts....

Or on the other hand, i'm thinking about buying a brand new N1 block and possibly crankshaft.

Where would i look to find the best prices for these?

well, don know where your area is, but brand new blocks, at just jap range from 2500-12k 2500 for the normal block, 3k for the N1 block and also 12k or so for the gt500rrr block

i have a second hand one for sale if your interested.

but im in sydney, and shipping for a block is pretty limited most of the time.

Yeah i know Just Jap do them, but i'm sure there is somewhere cheaper.

I saw you forsale thread and i'm sorry your block is way too rediculousy priced... Add another $300 to the price your asking for your block and crank, and thats what i paid for my complete RB26.

Thanks, anyway.

He never actually gave you a price. He just said what others sell them for - brand new.

Just look in the FS section, RB26 blocks sell for 2/10ths of fk all really 2nd hand.

Forget spending coin on a N1 block, not essential and plenty of cars running 400rwkw on a normal block

He didn't give me a price in the thread no, but i saw what he was asking in his forsale thread.

I have been looking in the for sale thread, but prices range from $200 to $1500 for a block! I'm asking what one would actually be worth, because the guy that sold me the engine is going to refund me the cost of a replacement block. Hench my question to ask how much one is 'fairly' worth.

Second hand block may well be the go, but there is never a way of telling how many cracks are in it until its tested.

And although i'm not chasing heaps of power, i want revs and repsonse and i want it to last.
