does anybody know what this plate is for?

i am referring to the blue compliance plate which sits directly above the engine cover, on the firewall.

i dont have this on my adm & ive never seen it on any other adm gtr...just curious?

Heres a pic of another QLD mod plate you can sort of tell the writing is in the same places and the size looks the same to me.

It's like an engineers certificate for QLDers, an engineer signs off on all the mods fits the plate and then lodges the details with their "RTA"

CompliancePlate_01.jpg

The ad for the car clearly states that its for the cage.

Nick had entended to do motorsport Rallies so a complied roll cage was fitted, although the roll cage has been removed and trims returned to standard as these events were never fullfilled it will accompany the sale of the vehicle and the QLD modification plate still remains.

Pitstop bookstore in Perth as recomended by your link. Excellent speedy service. One of the interesting things from reading is the Gibson racing cars were not from the "100" but made from shells sent from Japan. Great read. Thanks,

Rob.

Yeah...... I got my copy late on Friday and read that.

That is totally contrary to what Fred Gibson told me at the Legends dinner.

Unfortunately, 20 years of water under the bridge plays havoc with peoples memory.

Great book...... Excellent reading.

Bob.

I was very surprised by Fred's comment to you as the first race cars pre-dated the local cars by at least 12 months

Yeah........... I was a bit surprised and sceptical too.

I can help but think back to some similar conversations I had with Peter Brock and John Harvey in 2005.

Their comments were completely at odds with the general opinion on things too.

Unfortunately for them, enthusiasts like us wait on every word they say whereas for them it's a job and they don't see the relevance we put on things.

Duncan, were you in the group around my car when FG said what he said?

Curious to know...........Cheers,

Bob.

no, actually I didn't make it at all - I just saw you had posted it elsewhere. I was just surprised because it didn't work timewise. Those cars were already racing before the build date of the first aussie sold cars.

It was also contrary to what another contact who was close to nissan at the time had told me.

I reckon it would be damn hard to keep hold of all the details over time. Alan Heaphy last year was also either a little forgetful or chose to keep some things close....fair enough either way if you ask me!

I have found another ADM - dont know how we missed this 1, as per below article:

Marko, are these the same car?

Below for sale add says the Falken car was the ex black pace car. Unless there was more than 1 black pace car??

sounds like it is the same car! anyone disagree?

i actually agree with duncan; I'm pretty sure the race cars were Japanese spec not the AU ones?

Sounds about right.

No guard indicators, no roof aerial, JDM tail lights, rear bar filler is different too.

2. Kier Wilson of Willall Racing's 8.7sec GTR with 1000hp, WA plates RH9

is SA not WA plates:)

great to keep updated, if house sale went though i would grab the kerry packer car without a second thought.

there was another red one that was owned from new here in SA buy a guy who ran herbal life ill try to get a name, And see if he still has it

I'll update kiers number plates, thanks matt!

Kiers car is an icon, I also think that a 'worked gtr' seems to fit better in its element - the ATCC gtr's were animals and perfect setup IMO!

On the flip side, I also appreciate a factory BUT I personally am a horsepower addict!

If you have a close look at the VIN tags, you will note it's an early car and is NOT part of the 100 cars! VIN is 11268 which is not recorded on the list.

Bob.

So is it a genuine Aus Delivered car??

No idea about the VIN's, what i was asking is if its the same car as the one already in list or was there multiple black pace cars.

^ further to that, does it mean that this 12hr bathurst is a fake?

Tbh, why would they use an ADMGTR for race purposes anyway? It was a ltd edition hence a real waste and better off using a JDM imo

Definately the same car......... I think this may have been one of the evaluation cars built up to Aussie specs.

Yes, it is an Aussie Car but not one of the batched 100.

They must of had 1 or 2 of these cars as some of the magazine road tests were performed before the 100 cars arrived.

Bob.

Missing the first couple of digits on the blue plate. That Falken car was the first GT-R I had ever been in back in the mid 90s when it was on display at Superior tyres in Brisbane back in the day. Left a big impression thats for sure!
