Noob Question

Hi Guys

I have a flat battery and i just went to move my car (R33) and noticed that i couoldnt move it out of park - is this some sort of saftey feature?

i think they have a lock to not allow them to move out of park without the key being turned to on, or something like that.

Yeah, i have seen mechanisms like that in newer cars, although they usually had a way to over-ride it.

(in the honda accord i saw it on, next to the gear selector there was a little plug you took out and then put the key in to disengage the gear lock)

maybe look for something like that?

In camrys, corollas, various other similar cars there's a little button you press in, is there on in a skyline? Otherwise it might be linked to the brake, but I doubt that will work as it would be an electric link, not a mechanical one

yea its a bit weird, battery can be disconnected, but ignition needs to be on, or at least that worked for me.
