Maybe a stupid question but I want to drain old fuel from my car. I have tried a couple of different syphon hoses / pump things and they seem to get stuck or hit a snag so don't get into the actual tank.

The service manual says there is no drain plug on the tank so do I go through the fuel pump inspection plate in the boot?

Any ideas?

take the fuel line off the fuel rail and let the pump do it's job?

I thought ecu would tell the car to shut down if fuel was not returning?

I ended up going through the inspection plate in the boot, which wasn't to bad.

"R", if you can't do it Duncan's way, you can pour in some methylated spirits which dissolves the petrol > then empty it once again.

The reason for this is, the residual mixture (of just a few millilitres) is flammable, but not explosive.

Later on, just refill as you have done before.
