I wouldn't say its a bolt on turbo unless the snout has been modified.

Basically the VG30 snout (compressed ait outlet) is dead straight. The RB20/25's require that the snout first go straight then do a 90degree bend, it then attaches to the IC piping. I poped down to AAA exhaust and had them make up a 90degree 2.5" bend. You are unable to use the RB20/25 turbo snout as it is smaller in diamater. I can't remember if it bolts up or not though. I bought mine for $600, went through 2 turbo's from the same jap importers. Both were stuffed. Something to do with how they spray the crates hence moisture gets in to the bearings and rusts them.

ALso.. the VG30 Ball bearing turbo's came from the Infinity/Leopard VG30DET that made 190kw at the flywheel. Not the VG30ET from the old 300zx. Those turbo's are non-BB.

I took the turbo to two places, honeywell garret and j.c diesel which also repair turbos. Both comp-anys told me it was in good working order and it is a ball bearing item. In standard form is only good for 1bar maximum. Before i bought this turbo i rang at least 12 different places and only 2 places had one in stock. I got quoted $550 at one place and $770 at another. Some guy from this forum was going to sell me one for $900. As for documentation does it realy matter? it is a second hand item im selling and i have had it checked out by two different places. Price still stands at $500

GTST,

The oil & water lines don't have to be modifed IF the turbo is Ball Bearing.

There is one oil line that feeds in from the top of the turbo and a water line that feeds in to the turbo from the side of which the block is (its a bastard to do up as well).

Use the lines from your old RB turbo. Bolt up perfectly. As I said before the 'only' thing that has to be modified is the compressor's outlet so that it mates up with the IC piping.

Is there any chance of a pic from above to view the core? (inbetween compressor & exhaust wheel)

$500 is around the price peoples.

I had a look at the turbo and it does have an oil feed from the top etc. I know the series 1 rb25 turbo has 45v2 on the front cover. The main advantage of this turbo over the standard rb25 is that it has a slightly bigger ration on the exhaust housing, the guy at garret confirmed that for me. Thank you very much Joel for backing me up on price.
