Anyone Know What This Part Does?

Hi,

i've attached a copy of a part i need. Was checking the fluid levels and realise that with this part one of the hose attached to it has snapped.

looks easy to replaced, if i knew what the part was.

does anyone know what it is and also how much it is?

its your carbon canister purge valve. it tells the carbon canister (black canister and the front next to the air filter/air box) when to vent. its got something to do with the fuel tank breather. sorry i don't have a clue how much one would be, ring around a few wreckers and see what they have. p.s. series 2 stagea's, with the NEO RB25 have the same valve.

thanks for the info, my neighbour manage to get one from his auto spare guy, it was $80 for a second hand one. I'm not sure how long it was broken, do u think it would have done damage to the engine?

The car has been going ok, i hope there is no lonh term affect.
