Hey guys so I have been doing some hunting on carsales for a skyline to buy and this R33 GTS has popped up which im very interested in.

does it belong to anybody on the forum or does anybody know of it?

It seems to be perfect for me - basically no mods except for sound, tint and body kit. she is selling it with an exhaust but also including the stock which I will install. Its also at a great price.

heres the link

if anybody else knows of a similar car at a good price I would be interested in that too.

why dont u save up a little more for 10g and buy yourself a decent car that will last you mate.. and buy n auto turbo not a non turbo/auto .. that waiting that little extra bit always pays off in the end i know it did for me

lol :)

btw, resale value on an auto is craptacular. Very few people seem to want them... Can't imagine why...

I dunno about the R33 but the R34's are tip...so they're not really an auto. If the R33's are tip as well I couldn't see how the resale would be effected much because it can be driven as a manual...it's just not a manual in the true sense...

r33s...especially 95s... Are pre tiptronic. The are as auto as it is possible to be

ohhh...I didn't know that, I figured there was a chance cos a lot of other Jap cars were just starting to go tip in '95

then in that case I would looking for an R34 if I was him

hey mate....think i saw you in the show n shine...rit?..i would also recomend save a bit more and buy a decent turbo skyline...trust me you will want one once you hang around us... :P

unless you on your ps...and cant drive manual...check the jpcr33 like alex mentioned...his car is clean and a good example...

The price is ok, could probably get it for a bit less. (Provided you convince them to supply a RWC).

Don't worry about the kms, as the majority of jap imports have been tampered with.

Assess the condition of the car and make your decision based on that.

Ahhh...in the real world, we still call that an auto. Note the presence of a torque convertor.......

yeah I was at the show n shine today. I may go and have a look at this car but after talking to people today it does look like my best option will be to save up and either get a 34 trip or anothercar more known for their reliability.

to answer the questions I do only have an auto license and am yet to drive a manual so i do need the auto or tip.

semi auto's are the only transmission id use now its got the best of both worlds; even if it was was about power automatics actually can have better take off(fastest drag cars use automatics and i think their sequential) with an automatic u can preload the transmission instead of with a manual jerking the gears into place and getting wheelspin unless you drop the clutch at a lower rpm then you could in the auto.

Just about all the supercars have them now and theres a reason. its good to be able to eat, drink, do other stuff and not have to worry about changing gears sometimes. obviously i know u will lose about 5% power over all and add 10kgs+ to the car weight but if it came to it id rather the auto instead of the climate control

    • Yeh... literally every time i jump on a forum, see an instagram post or see an engine bay at a car show, i get an idea and add it to my 'to do' list. So what started off as, hey can u just make a couple of intake hard pipes because my dumbass bought the wrong apexi kit, blew out into a 2 week job including braided brake lines & custom bash kit for the front lip haha.  Getting Luke from A4E engineering to make a full custom exhaust with a controllable aes dump valve so i can actually switch between quiet and loud, because right now its just loud all day every day. Then after that go and get the tune redone flex e85 & 98 as i get bugger all milage from e85, makes going for longer drivers difficult
    • Car looks clean as. You ended up getting quite a bit done 😂  So what's the plan for the exhaust?
    • The only Neo rods that were any different to any other RB25 rods were the DET ones, and they were the same as RB26. Here is a Neo DET rod. O5U part number visible. Here is a post in a thread here on SAU with evidence from someone who has done this before. There are photos in the thread of normal RB25 rods.
    • Sure, but why assume that will be the case forever? And why assume you'll be able to do an oil change to swap back to a stock drain bolt before that happens? And does it even matter when I change the oil at fairly short intervals? Life can be funny sometimes and unexpected things can happen. Like breaking a collarbone so you can't do any work on your car for a few months but the oil change is due so you have to take it to somewhere and hope they don't do something stupid like stacking the new drain plug washer on top of the old one.
    • Do u know how to identify the rods are rb25 or neo ones? Can u look into the pics and tell me is they de or de neo ones. Its confusing becoz my motor has de neo head but block is 25de 75t, so really confusing me about rods, crank.
