Here's hoping it comes back a monster!

Perhaps a definitive answer on AVO's business ethics while were at it. We can see if they really were just too lazy to do better for the customer.

Maybe AVO just dont know how to get the car to come on boost sooner? Maybe there is an issue with the car? There may be something causing a restriction or an inferior/failing part. (thats not having a go at the car or the owner or AVO, its just a general comment)

A second opinion is always good if your not happy with the work done on the car but i wouldnt be to hard on AVO just yet.....

I know my car has recently been switched to E85 and the dyno figure actually went backwards.... am i disapointed, not just yet. We lost 20kwatw's, but the car was a lot harder to keep on the dyno this time around. One of the most reliable ways to tell whether it has gone forwards or not is to run it down the quarter. As long as my car runs quicker than 133mph i will be happy with the loss of power. If it doesnt i will quiz Yavuz as to what may be the cause. It made good power on pump, but maybe the setup isnt right for E85 and i may need to change something to suit it....

just throw it on a hub dyno

My point exactly. The owner has commented that they said they could try adjust the cam gears but this is the best they could do. The owner has queried the issue and soon we will see if it was a lack of commitment to the job that let him down. Short of not knowing how, all the above mentioned issues are something the shop should have tried to track down for the customer, not knowing how is something they should omit to the customer if it is the case.

I'd hold back any comment on AVO until its actually run on the familiar dyno, it could easily come down to ramp rates.

Agreed, yet I am not slagging them. I am merely saying we will see if it was a lack of commitment or not. So, we will see.

^ that should be epic, there is a guy in Europe on the way to his tuner with his R33 GTS25t running a FullRace twin scroll GTX3582R as we speak, that'll be interesting to see the result of too.

Whats the rest of the setup? Are you going to be able to lean on it a bit?

yeah leaning on it shouldnt be a problem running;

cp 9.0:1 pistons

nitto rods

dry sump set up

full balanced engine from harmonic balancer to clutch pressure plate

jim berry clutch

ported head

tomei springs

drop in cams

its in a silvia to and going to be on E85 cant wait been building it for 4 YEARS!:merli:

the pic is with the normal GT35 turbo that i sold

I am looking forward to seeing this set up working at its potential.

Trent isn't tuning. Just dyno running and diagnosing the lazy curve.

Exactly. They have done right by me thus far. And their work has been very good.

Oh hell yeah. This thing is going to be insane, hope you have a large fuel system and a dose of crazy!

yeah twin 044's surge tank dash 8 fuel lines and id2000 injectors

ill be happy with 360 - 380kws

Are you picking it up today?

Yeh tonight. Interesting to see what he says.

All very valid unbiased thoughts. Hopefully I will get my answer :)

I'm assuming ur referring to the 3582 lol

Yep, I tried to edit my post to clarify that when I discovered people had responded while I was typing that out and my interwebs got its glitch on and wouldn't let me.

If you aren't going to be shy on boost then I'd be surprised if you didn't blow that figure out of the water - even on a harsh dyno. Who is tuning it/what kind of dyno is going to be used? On E85 and a bunch of boost I'm expecting there is a good chance it'll make quite eye opening power, and bring it on quite quickly :) Will be particularly interested in seeing when it cracks 200kw...

im will be talking to a few tuners im in sydney so it will be out of JEM/Powertune/unigroup still probly 4-5months off from any dyno time

quick question guys would a 3 1/2 inch dump to 4inch cat back be over kill for my set up? OR should i just stick to 3 1/2 inch the whole way?

    • It doesn't really answer your question...but is the head unit full android or just android auto, are you happy with how quickly it boots and responds, and do you have a link?  If we can identify good Android alternatives it will really help people stuck with Japanese screens. Did it have a separate reverse camera input so you would replace the factory one, or are you just going without now...that would be a pretty big steps back. And finally, do you have a picture of the "wire" that you can't plug in? Most likely it is some sort of aerial that is not too important eg japanese traffic or am radio or something if you haven't noticed a functionality issue
    • haha funny enough I did ask him wtf he had been up to with the electrics....but no answer
    • For a daily just run Akebono ceramic pads. That's what they're optimized for. Obviously don't try to run it on track or anything like that.
    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
